memento mori , remember you will die .

sunoo didn't know he would be there . standing in front of his dreams since he was a child. hankuk law academy . after months of studying and lost hours of sleep he would never gain back, he stood on the very path to his career . "private defender and criminal lawyer, kim sunoo" the title bounced in his head over and over again and just the thought of it made him feel giddy .
dragging the several bags of luggage lazily behind him, he looks up, the wind breezing past his silver hair which sparkled like melting snowflakes that glistened under the sunlight . the university was huge, the amount of scenery to take in immediately overwhelmed the boy . as he curiously turned from here to there scanning the beautiful landscape, his hair bounced behind him . he was finally there . he looked up to see a white plaque with golden shimmering letters that spelt out "memento mori." "huh i wonder what that means" he pondered. promising that he would try to look into it later.
he stepped on the cold hard marble floors highlighted with golden streaks that reflected against the many crystal chandeliers that hung from the vanilla white ceilings . it felt that as if, rather walking into a university that would become living hell for him, he walked into a palace in the renaissance era . as the statue of the woman with scales stood gloriously before him, he knew it was a start of a new chapter in his life . a new beginning . one where his disturbing past, could bother him no more .

well that's what he thought . that's what he wanted . what he didn't know is that he would soon be forced to relive every blood curdling, terrifying moment that haunted him in his every waking moment for 18 years . history was going to repeat itself and end in a catastrophic way . sunoo was about to descend into hell itself . but for now let's get back to the silver haired boy and his adventures exploring this grand school.

he wandered around the colossal building, erm- well one of them anyway, going around in every nook and cranny discovering the place like a cat exploring new territory . his curiosity lead to him being shooed out of the vice dean's office after his short stay there as he wouldn't stop looking around and touching stuff . his conquest eventually lead him to the living quarters. he glanced on the key given to him by the vice dean with his room number written on a small white plastic plaque. room 212.

after roaming around for a while he finally found his room and he knocked lightly on the glossy wooden door under the illusion that his roommate had arrived before him. after his knock was met with a long silence and no response, he decided to make his way inside and his jaw dropped . it was such a pretty room, very cozy . it had two beds both opposite to each other, seperated with a small white drawer . two white table also lay opposite to each other . an air conditioner blasting cool air right as u enter the room . but what surprised him the most was the bathroom . he couldn't believe the fact that he got his own bathroom, well ignoring the fact that he would be sharing it, but just the relief that he wouldn't have to use communal bathrooms was enough to make him not mind . basically throwing himself on his bed and staring at the vanilla white ceiling, a beaming smile illuminated his face .
he picked up his phone after a heaving sigh, scrolling endlessly through his instagram feed, aggressively double tapping every post he came across . he was fighting a battle with his head . he was so tired from the long journey and the packing that he would've passed out any second but he pulled through . eventually admitting defeat, he let himself sink into the soft sheets, taking in their crisp smell . "just a short nap to get me back on track" he said as he finally gave in and fell into a long deep slumber .

ding !

his phone buzzed endlessly with notifications but not even the chatter erupting from his phone could wake the silver haired boy up . this moment was his to share with the cool air floating around him and the golden light that brightened and shone on his soft elegant features . the sunlight soon dimmed, the sun dipping inside the land, eventually disappearing, leaving a sparkly sky lit up by the moon .

at a roman triumph, the majority of the public would have their eyes glued to the victorious general at the front—one of the most coveted spots during roman times. only a few would notice the aide in the back, right behind the commander, whispering into his ear, "remember, thou art mortal." what a reminder to hear at the peak of glory and victory !!
