How strange
is this thing called laughter?
It comes before
And it comes after
They say it's
A humorous thing
That when you laugh,
You laugh and sing
But there is more
To laughter than this
More kinds of laughter
Than that of bliss
First, there's laughter
When you laugh along
Even though
You know it's wrong
Even though
Their words may hurt
You don't want
To self-assert
You don't know
Just what they'll say
If you don't laugh
So let them play
Then there's
The kind when
Things seem grim
So you laugh then
It's sarcastic
It's not real
Almost ironic
How you feel
Then there is
The darkest kind
Pure evil laughter,
You will fine
When life is dark
And cruel and bleak
So like a madman
You don't speak
You just laugh
It sounds like knives
Who knows what happened?
The laughter survives
Laughter, there's
So many kinds
To find out which
Just read the signs
There's blissful, happy
Ironic, cruel
Demonic laughter
That is my rule
