It all started with one drop of rain turning into a downpour onto my rooftop. The rain made a pleasing beat for my soul, soothing every worry I had of what was to come.

My living room held the two person sofa I sat in and to complement it a coffee table and television in front. It had on window to the left of the sofa, with cream translucent drapes on either side. The sides of the room were painted a sky blue, with the ceiling a smooth eggshell white. To the right was a hallway to the front door, and behind me was a door to the bedroom.

The doorbell rang suddenly, filling the the room with noise. It repeated itself over and over, clearly not going to stop until its call was answered.

I stared towards the hallway. The sound filled my ears, seeming to devour every piece of bliss I had. I finally got up, wanting to tell the person at my door off for ruining my perfect silence.

Instead I walked to the door, my hand turned the doorknob, and the door opened.

I produced my best smile and greeted the person with a warm, "Hello, may I help you?"

The man was taller than I was. About 6ft 5 maybe? He had an angled unrevealing face, with dark brown eyes. His hair was raven black, seeming to darken his eyes even more so. His body was bulky and did not look agile in the least. He wore a brown coat with a white t-shirt underneath and his jeans covered most of muddy boots.

"Are you Dawn Clurr?"

"Y-yes I am, how do you know my name?" I stuttered...my confidence was completely shattered!

"Ma'am my name is John Trabel. Come with me please."

I didn't have time to even object before he shoved a sown bag over my face, obscuring my vision. I tried to scream, but I quickly found out that John's hand was over my mouth. I struggled as much as I could, almost smiling when my leg came in contact with skin.

I didn't stop until the man shoved me into a seat of what was most likely a car.

Then a pain erupted at the back of my head, and the world grew dark until the black abyss of my eyelids felt as if it spread over my whole body.
