Izuku Midoriya jumped off the side of a building at 9:12 PM, July 1st, 2XXX. The Pro Hero Eraserhead was the first one on the scene.

His body was rushed to the nearest hospital, the paramedics hoping to find some way to save him.

They knew his death had already come.

Nobody wanted the death of a child on their hands.

Inko Midoriya worked as a surgeon at the hospital her son was rushed to. She found out he was there by the gurney rushing past her, displaying the trademark green hair of the Midoriya family.

The trademarked green hair that was stained with the red of blood.

The doctors did all they could, trying to keep him alive and to keep his heart beating.

They were unsuccessful.

Izuku Midoriya was declared dead at 9:27 PM, just 15 minutes after he had jumped off the building.

--

Mitsuki Bakugo was doing dishes when she got a phone call from her best friend at 9:32 PM.

She was not prepared at all for what her friend told her, one of the ceramic bowls slipping from her fingers and shattering against the bottom of the sink.

Tears started to rush down her face as she grabbed her bag, shoving her keys and her wallet in her purse, putting on a jacket.

"Mitsuki?" Masaru Bakugo was scared to see his normally brash and loud wife cry silently, not making much noise.

Mitsuki left the Bakugo residence at 9:33.

Katsuki Bakugo rushed out of his room earlier, when his mother dropped something.

He came to ask what happened, only to see his mother rush out the door.

"Old man? Do you know what happened?"

"No, I don't."

A frown appeared on both of the male Bakugo's faces.

The Bakugo residence was quiet.

--

Mitsuki Bakugo was wiping tears from her eyes when she appeared in the lobby of the hospital.

Her green haired friend had changed from her scrubs, someone, probably one of Inko's coworkers, gave her a cup of hot chocolate.

The Midoriya woman's eyes were puffy and red, telltale signs that she had been crying. The luminescent lights of the hospital left her friend's skin pallid and stark.

Tears continued to roll silently down her cheeks, very unlike the giant, loud midoriya sobs that Mitsuki was used to.

"They-They said Izuku... di-di-died?" Mitsuki sat down next to her friend, tears pouring down both of their faces as she struggled to talk.

Inko solemnly nodded, not letting herself talk. If she talked she would cry more. If she cried she wouldn't be able to think rationally.

She tried to whisper the one word that broke both of the women's hearts.

"Suicide." Tears began rushing down her face faster and louder, unable to keep it in any longer.

Mitsuki thought of the boy who called her Aunt.

The boy who made every day seem like the sun had appeared in human form.

The boy was a constant in her life, always being around and sticking with her obnoxious and explosive son.

Her son. How was Katsuki going to handle this? His closest friend, practically his brother, had died. Not because of someone else, but because his mind was such a dark and dangerous place that he had to leave the world in order to have peace. She could've helped. He could have helped. They all could have helped.

--

Masaru Bakugo got the call from his wife at 9:51.

He cried that night, tears spilling from the timid man's eyes.

He looked over at his son, who was still in the kitchen, and Masaru cried more, verging on sobbing, as his son asked what was wrong.

"Izuku." The older Bakugo muttered.

"What?!"

"Izuku... passed away."

The younger's face fell. His eyes looked to the floor. His mouth closed and flattened, so very different from the constant scowl that only left his face when he was with Izuku.

His head emptied, all other thoughts leaving as one brought its way to the front. Izuku died? Izuku died Izuku died Izuku died Izuku died Izuku died Izuku died Izuku died no no no no that can't happen what happened he can't be dead that isn't right why is he dead how did he die that isn't right he's alright he's safe Izuku is safe Izuku is alive no no no.

Masaru saw his son freaking out and rushed forward, hugging the blond boy and holding him close.

"It's going to be ok. We'll be ok. Calm down, you're safe. I'm here."

On this night, a chapter in one story ended. The book was closed. The credits were shown. The post-credits scene was over.

On this night, a new chapter was written. A book published. A theme song began. A movie started.

We all know the story of a boy who was born without power and was bullied by his old best friend, the story of a boy given an opportunity to become powerful and achieve his dreams.

In other worlds, in other stories, Izuku Midoriya was put under many different situations. In one universe he might be a vigilante, another a villain. He could've been a hero, or even a simple civilian. He might've been in the general, the support, the business, or even a different school's course.

In other worlds, many things could've happened to the boy who died this night.

But do we know the story of a boy who was born powerless, but supported by his best friend? Do we know the story of a boy who gave up after his dreams were crushed, never given the opportunity to achieve said dreams?

The boy in this story had given up. He had been abandoned by society so he abandoned it. When his dreams were crushed, he wasn't given the opportunity to show that he had the heart of a hero.
