CLARA'S POV

I walked into the library. My favourite place. There I used to spend all of my days when I was in middle school.The same kids were there as always.

Lana Denard and Elis Worsh were flirting in one of the corners.Both of them oblivious idiots if you ask me.

Norman Williams (maybe the only considerably smart person here)was reading a book on one of the benches.

There were a few more kids (half of them from the drama club ,probably searching something by William Shakespeare to cry themselves to sleep to).

I picked up "Shadow and Bone" by Leigh Bardugo (yes I may be basic but shut up it's a good book) and sat next to Norman.I guess a few words with him won't kill me (or are they).

" Hello Clara" he said before I can ask him what he's reading.

"Hello Norman" I said as I looked at the cover of his book "The Song of Achilles" by Madeline Miller "Oh...I would say fruity of you but you are going to kill me"

"Yes I would have indeed killed you if you said that" his lips did the closest thing to a smile I had ever seen that boy do."What about you ShAdOw AnD FuCkiNg bOnE oOoh"

"Norman, my dear you are walking on thin ice"

"Oh really?What are you going to do? Shift to another reality where you are a dictator and kill me ? I am terrified."

"Bitch"

As we talked about random things I saw a short shadow coming in. As it got closer I already knew who that is.The girl from my history class – Nara Simons.

Her beautiful short ginger hair ,curled as always. Nara meant "Happy" in celtic. And was the best way to describe her. Always energetic and filled with smiles, laughter and loveliness. I never talked to her a lot but to be honest I never talked to anyone ,except maybe Norman sometimes.

"Hello Clara, Norman!" she smiled at us "Mind If I join you?" I didn't say anything and just looked at the floor while Norman with irritation said one quick "ok" to save the awkward situation.

"So, what are we reading today?" she asked still keeping the smile.

We told her and she showed us her book "The Cruel Prince" by Holly Black.

"So you like enemies to lovers?"asked Norman

"I like every type of romance"

We talked for a while and then we left.

I got to my dormitory, and started reading "Shadow and Bone" again.

What is it about?Surrounded by enemies,the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn into two by the Shadow Fold...

Hello everyone! I hope you liked the really short 1st chapter. I promise its not going to be shitty. Maybe. No spoilers but we have some childhood crush going here... Who knows.
