Nick's POV
I plopped down onto the bubble wrap covered couch resulting in a loud pop. The aggravating noise just adding to my headache that I had gotten from 3 straight hours of unpacking.
"Travis. I have the worst headache." I shout into the kitchen where Travis, my best friend, was unpacking the kitchen boxes.
"Take some aspirin then dumb ass." His head pops around the corner before he throws me a water bottle and a bottle of aspirin.
"Thanks Travis." I mumble opening the water and popping the pill in before downing half the water in 2.5 seconds. "What time is it?"
"5:52" Travis says taking a seat on top of my legs that were currently sprawled out on the couch. He pushed his dirty blonde hair back with a black bandana and let out am exaggerated sigh. He's attractive but i'd never be into him, he has girls fawning over him 24/7 anyway. "Is the cable turned on yet?" He asks picking the remote up and pressing the red button. The TV makes a little ding letting us know that its turning on, taking its sweet time.
"I don't think the cable is on but there should be a few channels to mindlessly flip through." I say pushing him off my legs and strolling into the kitchen. Boxes were everywhere and random things were laying around on the counters and the table. "You know you're not done with the kitchen!" I shout flipping the tabs on a box open and pulling out a stack of plates to put in the cupboard.
"I was hoping you wouldn't notice." He walks in after me and picking up a new box and using a knife that was sitting on the counter to tear the tape. He pulled out a pack of beer and winked at me. I nodded quietly as he opened it and threw me one. I popped the top open and took a long sip allowing the lukewarm liquid to sit in my mouth before I swallow setting the can down and picking up another stack of plates.
"Are you gonna help me or not meanie?" I say looking at Travis who has sat himself on the counter behind me sipping on his beer. He shakes his head letting me continue by myself. Before I knew it I had finished four boxes and was starting on the fifth when Travis hopped off the counter to actually help now.
It was about 8:00 when I dropped the last empty box on the ground and groaned as loud as I could. I was done unpacking the kitchen and plenty ready to go to bed. "I'm gonna take a shower and go to bed." I say as I stroll past a half asleep Travis laying on the couch. He grunted a response and got up to slowly make his way to his bedroom. I walk down to the end of the hallway and open my door. I stepped in and looked around. A lot different than my old house. For one its bigger and this apartment actually has a guest room. The last one we lived in had 1 room and was absolutely dreadful. I walked to my closet and grabbed a white t-shirt and a pair of sweats. The bathroom connected to my room was probably one of my favorite things. sharing a bathroom with Travis was a terrible thing. I don't wish it upon anyone except for all the basic bitches. I opened the closet in the bathroom and grabbed a fresh towel. I placed my towel on the counter with my clothes on top of that. I turned around and twisted the knob on the shower thing letting the cold water flow and heat up. I got undressed looking at myself in the mirror once admiring the package. Hmm. I'm sexy I thought actually getting in the shower now.
Once I was out of the shower and fully dressed I walked into my room and crawled under the covers. I picked up my phone typing a quick goodnight to my other best friend Hailey.
Hey bitch. I finished unpacking the kitchen. Just letting you know. I'll text you again tomorrow. Goodnight. I love you.
Travis had a crush on Hailey but could never admit it. And I wouldn't allow it anyway. I will not tolerate my two best friends dating each other. No thank you. I plugged my phone in and lean over to turn off my lamp. It was a busy day and all I could think of was the beautiful night of sleep ahead of me. I closed my eyes and almost instantly fell asleep.
