Summary: Little!Reader gets curious about Agatha's childhood, how is she going to deal with that?
Your girlfriend didn't like to talk about her past, that much was clear. Your grown up self had already learned this lesson once, and since then you hadn't even once mentioned the years she spent in Salem, even though you felt very curious about it.
The little you, however, was blissfully unaware of this fact and, ironically, loved to ask questions.
Well, not about Agatha, most of the time.
No, your mommy usually just had to deal with questions about why the sky was blue, or sometimes about her magical powers.
But that day, as you played on the living room rug and Agatha watched you from the couch, something piqued your interest.
"Mommy?" You turned to meet Agatha's eyes.
"Yes baby?" She smiled, knowing from your expression that you were about to ask one more of your little questions.
"What was your favorite toy when you were little like me?"
And there it was.
Agatha knew that at some point you would come up with that subject, but as you looked at her with your wide, innocent and expectant eyes, she didn't have the heart to scold you for being too nosy.
"I didn't have any," Agatha replied truthfully, quickly realizing that this wasn't the answer you wanted to hear.
You felt your lips forming a pout, "mommy didn't have any toys?"
Agatha still shook her head, "in my day there weren't many toys, the kids and I played with our magic, which was convenient as we needed to train anyway."
Your eyes suddenly filled with tears as you sobbed, causing Agatha to get up quickly from the couch and wrap you in her arms, whispering a soothing "shhhh" onto your hair as she rocked you from side to side.
The brunette was already used to your sudden mood swings and unexpected crying, you didn't have any filter on your emotions when you were in your little state and that wasn't exactly new anymore. At first Agatha had been taken by surprise, but now she knew exactly how to handle your outbursts.
"It's okay, sweetheart," she murmured when you calmed down, gently wiping your tears and stroking your cheeks.
"B-but mommy, t-this is very sad," you babbled. Little you was heartbroken to learn that Agatha never had a toy of her own.
'I was sad for other reasons,' Agatha thought, but that phrase never left her lips, as she didn't want to upset you any further. Instead, she frowned as you disentangled yourself from her grasp, crawling over back to your toys with a determined expression on your face.
The witch did not understand what you intended when you took your stuffed owl and brought it back, holding out your arm for her to take the stuffed animal.
"What's that for, Y/N? Why are you handing me Athena, baby?"
"I want you to have her," you smiled, "now you have a toy!"
Agatha gasped slightly at your selfless attitude, taking Athena in her hand and quickly bringing you into a tight hug, making you giggle at the unexpected reaction.
But the giggles stopped as soon as you felt tears on your neck. Oh no, had you upset her?
"Mommy, don't cry, please" you hugged her even tighter, shaking your head desperately. Making her sad was never your intention.
But Agatha was far from being sad, feeling her heart pound with pure adoration and love for you, her beautiful, generous baby, that loved her more than anyone else ever could. And she loved you right back.
"These are happy tears, doll," she reassured you, kissing your cheek sweetly, "thank you Y/N, I promise I'll take good care of Athena."
"If you take care of her like you take care of me, she'll be the happiest stuffed animal ever!" You squealed, raising your hands to demonstrate how happy she would be.
Holding you and Athena as she laughed, Agatha considered that, yes, she had been very sad once upon a time, but now she was happy.
And she was happiest mommy ever.
