I slowly open my eyes as I get accustomed to bright light that welcomed me. I scan the place I'm in and familiarize myself with my surroundings.

White walls...White Ceilings...White Everything...

I just sigh and close my eyes again upon realizing the situation I'm in. A setup that I am all too familiar with. As I take a deep breath I open my eyes once again and just stare off into the ceiling, as if it would magically change from white to pink and that this would all turn out to just be a nightmare that I have yet to snap out of.

After staring for how many hours, I hear the sound of the doorknob twisting.

I avert my gaze to the door, anticipating who's on the other side. After a few seconds, I was greeted by the faces of my family whom upon noticing I was awake rushed towards me with relieved expressions.

"Princess, how are you feeling? Does anything hurt?" I look to see my Daddy's worried gaze as he asks me while slowly stroking my hair.

I smiled timidly at him. "Daddy I'm fine now...Nothing hurts right now, so please stop worrying." I said to him as I slowly relish in the feeling of him stroking my hair.

As soon as I was feeling a bit drowsy, my mother's gentle voice woke me from my reverie. "We brought you food princess...Do you want me to feed you or you can do it yourself?" I turn to look at where she is and notice her preparing a variety of food on the table.

My father carefully left my side and stood up to help my mother prepare. "I can eat by myself....Thank you, Mommy." She then gave me a warm smile after hearing my reply.

"Okay, Honey."  She replies as finishes setting up the table.

I prop my hands down on the bed to assist myself while I slowly attempt to sit in my bed from lying down. Before I could even exert force, I heard my brother cursing. "Fuck...You just woke up Princess...Don't use too much strength yet...I told you countless times already to be careful...Kapatid mo ko, okay? You can always rely on me even for the most simplest things." I feel my brother's hands holding onto my waist and back as slowly assists me to sit.

I look at him with a frown. "Kuya naman...I'm not that weak, okay? I appreciate your help po pero I can manage pa naman kasi...And I told you to stop cursing na diba?" I said as my frown gets deeper habang nakakunot ang noo ko at nagsasalubong na ang kilay ko para ipakita sakanya kung gano ko hindi nagustuhan yung ginawa nya.

He chuckles lightly...pinching my cheeks hard causing me to wince. "Sorry na po, mahal na prinsesa...I was just worried about you." My frown turns to a pout softening at my brother's words.

Our moment was cut short when I heard our parents fake cough to get our attention. We met their loving gazes as they smiled and looked at us with awe, like we were the most precious beings in their lives.

"Ang cute talaga ng mga anak ko...Pero mamaya niyo na ipatuloy yan...Let's eat first since I know you all are very hungry." My mother said as she pulled the table near my bed so I can eat without getting up.

I then heard my father sigh. "You're all growing up too fast...Parang kahapon lang you were still my little babies, always asking Daddy for a hug...And now you're these big babies taking care of each other...Looks like you don't need Daddy anymore" My heart aches as I see my father smiling so brightly with tears in his eyes.

I approached my father and gave him a big hug...Soon after I felt another pair of big warm arms enveloping the both of us, I look back to see my brother, then followed by my mother, who also has tears in her eyes encasing us. "Don't say that Daddy...We love you so much, and we will always need you." I whisper as I feel the warm embrace of my family who has always been with me through good and bad times.
