Amnesia

~The news  about what happened to Hailey Cuevas spread like wildfire to their area. The people give their sympathy and encouragement  towards her family. They couldn't believe that at a young age she will experience a horrible event in her whole life.

Hailey Cuevas have not yet regain
consciousness. She was still in the hospital  for almost 3 days straight. The Dixon family is so furious for what Joshua Cruz have done to their beloved grand daughter. Haiden throw some punches to his once called bestfriend.

"I thought we are bestfriend!! How could you violated my sister. You embecile!!!" Haiden spat angrily to Joshua.

"I couldn't help it. Your sister is so attractive and beautiful." Joshua said and laugh like a lunatic after his remark.

"You.Jerk!!!! Scumbag!!" Haiden agrily said as he tried to give Joshua another punch but he was stop by a stranger.

"Don't do it." the stranger said.

"Who are you?" Haiden ask but the stranger did not answer his question. He just simply said.

"Your sister is now awake." the stranger inform Haiden.

Haiden hurriedly went to the hospital to see her sister.

Haiden POV

I am Haiden Cuevas, brother of Hailey Cuevas. Hailey is one year older than me, but I act more like a big brother than her. The way I act and think are far more mature despite of what my age is.

I was so shocked for what my bestfriend have done to my sister. I thought he was a real friend and he will never become a threat to our family, but I was wrong.

~I was in my usual routine when I receive a call coming from my sister.

"Hello, sis. I'm busy righ--" my words are cut off before I could finish it.

"Hello, is this Mr. Dixon." I got confused when I heard the voice of the caller. It is not my sister.

"Wait. Who are you? Why do you have my sister phone?"

"Oh! You are her relative then?"

"Wait you didn't answer my question."

"I am a personnel in the hospital, and I am calling right now to inform you that your sister have been taken in the hospital a few minutes ago."

' What the h***?'

"What happened to her? What's the name of your hospital?"

"The doctors are now checking her condition so I can't give any relevant answer to your question right now. The name of  our hospital is Vesta General Hospital."

"Thank you for the information." I said before ending the call.

When I arrived at the hospital I was in so much hurry, but because I'm still too young to handle the situation. The head nurse call my grandparents to  inform the situation.

After the call, my grandparents arrive at the hospital in so much panic and worry.

"What is the condition of our granddaughter?"

"What happened to her Haiden?"

"I'm sorry grandpa, but I don't know the details about it. I am also quite shock by the news I have received earlier."

After a few hours of waiting the doctor got out.

"Doc is my granddaughter okay?" grandma asked.

"She is now okay."

"Doc what happened to my sister?"

"Well, based on our observation and test conducted to your sister. We think that the case of your sister is attempted rape."

We are all shock from what we have heard from the doctor.

"Doc, why it is consider as attempted rape?"

"Well as we examined the body of your sister there are some bruises at her wrist, breast, abdomen, and thigh. Luckily, the culprit have not taken the chance to get your sister purity. The fear from what happened will traumatize your sister."

"Oh, no!! What will happened to her after this?" my grandma started to cry.

"Your granddaughter will still need to undergo some observation and test, before I can approve her to be release out of our hospital. I also need to inform you that there is a slight possibility of some changes in your granddaughter's behavior and personality which is due to her shock and fear. This changes can be consider as her defense mechanism. That's all I can say right now. I pray for her recovery" the doctor explain to us before he takes his leave.

"Why did it happened to her? Who is the culprit? We need to make him pay at all cost." grandpa angrily said.

My sister got admitted at the hospital for 3 days straight and she was put into one of the biggest room in there. She is still unconscious and we don't know how long will she be like this. 

Few minutes later, we receive a call from the police. They have already capture the culprit.

"The culprit name is JOSHUA CRUZ." the officer inform us through a call.

I got taken a back.

'Did I heard it right?'

"Joshua Cruz, my bestfriend!"😳

"How could your friend do this to your sister!" grandma cried again after knowing the name of the culprit.

"That scumbag after how we treat him in our house is this what he gonna repay to us!" grandpa angrily said it.

'He will pay dearly.'

Grandpa and I hurriedly went out to the hospital in order to meet the culprit while grandma is left to the hospital to take good care of Hailey. My little brother Haixel is at our aunt house.

We arrive at the police station and both grandpa and I came face to face with Joshua. Grand pa didn't say a word. He just talked to the officer and I am left with Joshua.

I was ready to assault Joshua when a mysterious person stop me from doing it. He also informed me that my sister is now awake.

My grandfather and I hurriedly went back to the hospital.~

I enter the room and was welcome by my sister laughter and cheerfulness. I can see the sad gloomy aura of my grandmother. I questionly look at her. Grandfather is also confused.

"What kind of look is that Haiden?" Hailey ask out of the blue.

"Nothing."

"Hailey what do you feel right now?" grandpa asked Hailey.

"Well, I'm fine grandpa is just that my whole body is aching for some unknown reason." Hailey answer.

"Hailey don't you remember what happened to you?" grandma asked Hailey.

" I remember going to school and I don't know what happened next."

After hearing Hailey's statement my grandparents went to talk with the doctor.

"Based on the result of the run test of Hailey. She is suffering from amnesia. There is some events in which she will not remember at all. Rest assured because this is just temporary. I think this is her defense mechanism in protecting herself against some unpleasant memory."

"How long will she be like this Doc?" grandpa asked.

"It depends with the patient. There is also some chances that her memories will comes back eventually, if it will be triggered by something or someone close to her. It will be quite good if the patient will recover it for herself." the doctor said.

After hearing it, I have decided that I will always be there for my sister no matter what happened.

'I will protect you, Hailey.'
