"fuckin' shit..." bakugou groaned, rubbing his head. he opened his eyes only to be blinded by an e/c glow, making him shut it quickly. 'that color reminds me of their eyes...' he thought, grumbling as he quickly got used to the bright light due to experience with his quirk.
he clenched his fists, only to feel a warm, soft blanket. he shook his head, looking around his surroundings. he seemed to be in a bedroom. it was pretty minimalistic and he could tell that the room had a neutral brown and beige theme with some green plants.
the boy huffed, getting up and noticing he was just in his underwear and and sweats - his usual sleep wear. he looked around, trying to see if there's anything that could help him find out where he was. on the right of the bed had a large window looking out into the city, a city he knew far too well.
he walked over, attempting to see where in the city he could be but stopped at a picture framed set up on the tv stand.
it was a picture of him and y/n. except y/n had a large smile while bakugou was kissing her cheek, also smiling softly. in the background was what looked to be america's statue of liberty.
bakugou blushed furiously, his chest feeling warm from seeing how happy the girl in the picture was. their eyes were bright, a color he hasn't seen since they were in their second year of middle school, the year before the both of them have fully broke off all connections.
bakugou didn't get the chance to examine the picture even further when the door opened. he looked over, placing the picture frame back it it's place and got into a fighting stance. once he saw who walked in, he softens and crossed his arms over his chest.
"oh, hey bakugou. i didn't realize you were up." y/n greeted, a tray in their hands with coffee and breakfast on top. "it's been roughly twenty-nine hours since the incident, so your body must be sore."
bakugou rose a brow, wondering when she started caring about his well being, "who the hell are ya and what have ya done to that quirky bitch?"
a tick mark appeared on her head, "i'm perfectly fine, firecracker! am i not allowed to take care of my partner?" she huffed, setting the food on the desk.
bakugou knew why his chest felt weird when they called him their partner. although he also knew she meant it in a different way, he liked the sound of the title. "my bad, 'm not used to... this."
y/n nodded, turning towards him, "i usually do this for 'zuku whenever i can. usually on the days he sleeps in because i can't wake up early enough."
the boy nodded, wanting to yell at her for bringing up the greenette, however he had no right to talk. see's free to talk about someone, especially her boyfriend. "what's up with this?" he asked, walking over and grabbing the coffee, taking a gulp.
"i'm not sure. i haven't been able to use my quirk and not to mention this apartment is weird, luckily it had coffee and food for us to eat." she murmured.
bakugou's eyes zoned out to the window looking over the city. "i haven't been able to use my quirk either... the city's dull."
y/n agreed, "the news stations have no villains, heroes or anything about quirks mentioned. i looked up some stuff also, but nothing of the sorts popped up. closest things are these superhero franchise called marvel and dc comics."
the ash blond placed his empty cup of coffee back on the tray. "we should research some pro-hero names and relations."
"true, i haven't done that yet since i've only woken up an hour ago."
"right, i'm goin to check the apartment out then i'll come help."
y/n agreed, informing him they'll be in the office on the right of the room.
bakugou flopped back on the bed, letting out a heavy sigh. he placed a hand on his chest, right above where he could feel his heart beating quickly.
'they're so calm but their eyes showed panic.' he thought, then suddenly turned red. 'fuck. when was the last time she called me firecracker? i hate this..."
