.Mixed feelings.

Max wakes up, his eyes sore from crying himself to sleep. As he checks the time he had 5 miss calls and 20 messages. All from Sam worried and wondering if he was going to school, it was 9:12 Am school starts at 8:35 Am he was late to school, He gets up from his bed in a hurry and gets his backpack. Max's still wearing Sam's old T-shirt and the same pants from yesterday. He couldn't care less what he wears or what others think about his style, all he needed was to make sure Sam was safe from people who picked on him. He makes it out the door and runs to school. He missed first class but was able to make it to his second class, in his second class everyone sits with their class partner. By little luck and threatening the teacher Max's partner was Sam. He walks into class, his eyes meet up with Sam's eyes with worried eyes now relaxed and with a calm smile he waves at Max, Max walks into the class about to head to his seat till he realized that Jessica was sitting there

Jessica greets Max and says "sorry but my partner isn't here and the teacher told me Sam can be my partner for now. You don't mind, do you?

Max: "Nah don't worry about it, it was my fault for being late"

Max looks at Sam "I'll see you at lunch then"

Sam: "yeah, i'll see you then"

The teacher tell's Max to sit down, so he can carry on with the lesson. With no talk back to the teacher he does, Max sit's in the back near the window and takes out his notebook and places it down.

Sam and Jessica chat during work time but Sam's mind wanders as his eye's start to focus on Max just daydreaming as he looks outside the window. The morning sun shines on Max's white fur, his calm expression relaxes Sam's nerves, Sam see's that Max is wearing his old shirt. Even though Jessica is talking to him, all Sam's focus was on Max. Sam gets lost in his thoughts *Is that my shirt?* *He kept it..* *He looks nice* Sam always feels a weird feeling when he looks at Max, or when Max's smiles when Max tells a joke to cheer up Sam. Sam always felt this way since they were kids, but he could never put his finger on what this weird feeling was.

Jessica: "Sam? Sam? Are you in there?"

Sam: "huh?- Oh yeah sorry i got lost into my own thoughts" 

Jessica turns around to see outside the window and says "it sure is beautiful today"

Sam's eyes once again focuses on Max and says "he sure is.."

Jesscia turns back around "hm?"

Sam: "I mean it sure is!..eheheh..."

Sam nervously laughs, and brings back the work time topic "Let's finish our class work" Jessica nods in agreement.

Class ended a couple of minutes later Sam and Jessica walk out of class, they see a poster in rainbow letters that states "Love is Love! We support you!" Some kids walk by and laugh at the poster, other's take a red marker and draw a small heart to show support, on the poster there are 5 hearts drawn .

Jessica: Hey Sam what do you think about this?

Sam: oh uhm, Well like it says love is love and i don't mind, i actually find it cool.

Jessica: yeah, if it makes then happy then let them be happy

Jessica takes out a red pen and draws 2 hearts on the poster and smiles at Sam. "Now there's 7 hearts!" Jessica says with a smile, Jessica and Sam go to their next class as they start walking Jessica drops her red pen by accident, Max finds the pen and picks it up, he stares at the poster and then looks around, no one in the hallways just him now. Max uncaps the pen and draws. "Now there's 8 hearts", Max walks to his next class.

It's lunch time now and Sam is on his way to meet up with Max at his locker, as he's walking he hears laughing, which turns into yelling. Sam runs over where the yelling is and sees Max in a fight with Eric, Sam's bully but why is he fighting with Max? He runs closer and see's Max with his bloody nose and his knuckles scraped and bleeding, Sam see's someone right behind Max, it's Jessica behind Max

Max: SHE SAID SHE WASN'T FU*CKING INTERESTED.

Eric: STAY OUT OF THIS, YOU RAT.

Max: I'LL STAY OUT WHEN YOU STOP ACTING LIKE A DAMN CREEP TOWARDS HER!

Sam runs towards Jessica who is in tears, She hugs Sam, she's shaking. Sam brings her away from the fight and goes to Max

Sam: MAX! Stop! You're bleeding!!

Max: Sam. Stay. Out. Of. This.

Eric: aww are you trying to protect your little dog boyfriend? HAH! You gay freaks!

Max punches Eric in the face, Eric's face gets bruised and right as he's about to punch Max back, he says "YOU LITTLE SH! I'M GOING TO-"

Eric is stopped mid sentence by a punch right in the face which knocks him down it was from Sam!

Max: S-sam!?

Sam: DON'T TOUCH HIM. *Sam growls and gives a dead cold stare to Eric

Eric nose starts to bleed "Y-You WILL PAY!" he gets up and starts to run away

Max is left speechless for he has never seen Sam like this, it kinda turned him on..Sam look's at Max with worried eyes, Sam puts his hand on Max's cheek, Max blushes a little.

Sam:"Are you okay!? OH GOD you're bleeding way too much!" *Whines*

Max: "I-Im fine, it's just a bit of blood" *Max gives a weak smile*

Sam: "N-no!! You're not fine! Let's get you fixed!"

Sam carries Max like a bride and starts to run to the nurses office. The whole time Max blushes..he hasn't seen Sam this way, he's so close to Sam, He's hides his blush in Sam's arms. After running to the Nurses office no one was there for it was their break time, so Sam took matters to his own hands.Sam sit's Max down on one of the bed's and looks around for bandages and some paper towel, this isn't the first fight Max has gotten in but Sam still worries. Sam get the stuff he needs and starts to wipe the blood off Max's face and bandages Max face then his knuckles

Sam: "What were you thinking?!"

Max: "He was bothering Jessica, and he's a damn jerk."

Sam: *sigh* "just don't do that again"

Sam finishes fixing Max up and hold's Max's hand for a moment

Sam: "I get scared.." He says as he looks down and does a small whine

Max: ...Sam..

Max puts his hand on Sam's cheek and gently lifts up Sam's face, Their eye's meet, Sam heart beats faster.

Max: Look at me Sammy, See? I'm fine now, don't worry. And....I guess I'll be more careful next time.

Sam: You better...wait-.. next time!?!

Max: *Laughs* I'm kidding! And I didn't know you had it in you to punch someone!

Sam: W-well they were messing with you! And I'm not going to let anything like that happen to you again!

Sam says as he grabs Max's hand tighter, They both realize what they are doing. Sam holding Max's hand and Max hand still on Sam's cheek. Time stops both their heartbeat syncs with each other. They both get lost in each other's eyes and their faces slowly get closer...
