"My flight will be here soon..." Onoda sighed sadly holding on tightly to Midousuji's cold hand. There was no reply, only the feeling of Midousuji's hand grip tighter around his. Onoda walked the tall lean boy over to the large window where his plane would be coming in at any moment.
It was quiet. Too quiet, until the loud thundering sound of the plane slowly landed in the brightly lit plane lot. Midousuji flinched at the feeling of Onoda wrapping his arms tightly around his waist. Midousuji hesitated, but eventually embraced the shorter boy in his arms. "Akira.." Onoda paused and held tight to Midousuji's slender body; "Y-You'll be alright won't you?" Midousuji replied with a quiet sigh and patted the top of Onoda's head. Deep inside Onoda knew it was going to be hard. Hard to leave. Hard to make Midousuji stay here alone for a whole 6 months before he would return from his trip. Because deep inside Onoda knew that Midousuji was already lonely enough, and without him there, he wasn't sure if the taller boy would make it through the agonizing pain, that was loneliness. Onoda took a deep breath and began to cry just thinking about having to leave Midousuji all by himself. He wiped desperately at his cheeks lifting his glasses up carefully. Midousuji furrowed his eyebrows and gently grabbed Onoda's flushed face with both of his hands. "Gross Sakamichi.. Don't cry." He said quietly, caressing his thumb softly against Onoda's wet cheek. The shorter boy smiled lightly and held onto both of Midousuji's hands. "I don't w-want to leave you." He said sadly trying hard to fight back the tears from spilling out of his eyes. He shut his eyes tightly hoping that this moment would last forever, but in an instant, a voice sounded over the airports waiting area about getting ready to board the plane. It was almost impossible to hear through the sound of Midousuji's mellow heartbeat beating peacefully against Onoda's ear as he pulled himself close into the taller boys chest. Everything went gray;
They were the only two people who existed in this offaly short moment they shared. "Sakamichi.." Midousuji whispered softly as if he was reminding the short boy that his flight was here. Onoda's breath hitched, but he nodded through the pain. He couldn't hold his tears anymore. "Y-Yeah. A-Akira, I-" Onoda began but got cut off by Midousuji who had bent over and quickly placed his lips on his own. Onoda wrapped his arms around Midousuji's neck and pleasingly kissed him back, the tears still staining his cheeks. It all went by too quickly. Onoda let his arms slip from Midousuji's neck slowly and took a step back. He gave a pained smile and latched hands with Midousuji before walking towards the boarding area. It was silent as they walked; because what was there to say? The voice sounded over the airport again reminding the travelers that is was the last chance to board the airplane before takeoff. Onoda paused before the hall that led him to the plane, and faced Midousuji. "Only 6 m-months.." He reminded himself and Midousuji who held onto both of Onoda's hands firmly. Midousuji nodded once and spoke softly; "Sakamichi just, hurry...." He said. And Onoda knew exactly what he meant. "I promise I'll hurry home." He smiled through the tears and stood on his toes to give Midousuji a quick peck on the lips before throwing his backpack over his shoulder and pulling the handle out of his suitcase. "Smile. I want to see your perfect teeth before I go." Onoda said as Midousuji frowned to show off his teeth. "Akira!" Onoda laughed to try to cheer up Midousuji. He shook his head and gave him an awkward smile before Onoda embraced him once more. "That's much better" he said. Midousuji hugged him and gave him a kiss on the top of his head before letting go. Midousuji shoved his hands in his jacket pockets as Onoda faced the long hall. "It won't be long..." He sighed "I promise." And with that, Onoda gave Midousuji another smile before quickly making his way done the hall before he missed his flight.
Midousuji stood there for a few moments before gradually walking his way towards the window where the both of them were minutes ago. He glared out the window and saw the last few adjustments being prepared for the plane before the loud engine sounded over the airport once more.
Inside the plane, Onoda squeezed into his seat, apologizing to the people he'd accidentally bumped into on his way there. He sat down and heaved a heavy sigh. His eyes were still red and his cheeks were still flushed, but he continued to remind himself how fast 6 months would go by if he kept his mind off of it. He slowly turned his head to peer out the small window as the plane began to move. It was hard to see anything from the window, only the dark night sky, and the bright lights that lined the airplanes road were visible. Onoda furrowed his eyebrows, and made himself all choked up just thinking about the whole ordeal of practically abandoning Midousuji. Onoda clenched his fist, and the tears began to fall from his eyes more and more. He held his head with his hands and sobbed sadly.
Midousuji watched the plane take off into the pitch black sky and quickly made his way towards the exit as the plane disappeared from view inside the airport. As he ran outside, he could see the plane not too far away from his vision. He made his way to his white De Rosa bicycle and hopped on as fast as he could. He pushed himself to try and keep up with the plane, but within a few minutes, the plane was nearly out of sight. Midousuji pulled the breaks on his bike, and stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. The street lights were the only thing that illuminated the dark road and Midousuji who stood there, frozen in place. His eyes were wide and he didn't quite understand what he was feeling deep inside his chest. It was the same pain he felt when he was younger. That same agonizing pain riding in his aching heart. He clutched his hand over his heart and bent over the handlebars on his bike; It hurt so bad. Midousuji closed his eyes and covered his face with his free hand that wasn't holding his chest. He clenched his teeth together and slowly looked up to the dark starry sky. His vision blurred and everything went hazy. "S-Sakamichi" he uttered to himself through the tears that fell from his dull eyes.
His mind went blank except for one thing that he always felt when Onoda wasn't with him; It only hurts after you're gone.End
