"Wendy!" Was the last thing my best friend ever heard. I never had the time to say everything I wanted. Because that man killed her. The table turned. It was never supposed to turn out like this. Wendy should not have been here. My knees felt weak as her body fell down, almost in slow motion. It just seemed like she was floating. My heart skipped a beat as hers stopped beating. She was dead. He killed her.
Seeing her motionless body on the ground made me so mad. She wasn't supposed to be here! Why did she come? It was my turn to fight. But I stood there frozen when I saw him. I'll never be able to live with this on my mind.
I turned my back to her dead body. Images of him passing me in an instant came back to my mind. Images of her shouting my name at one time and then lying on the ground with a silver arrow flashed back too.
I turned my back one last time to see the arrow already disappearing. I had enough time to make a promise before her body did the same.
I will avenge your death, Wendy.
