Chapter 1:The First Date

Mari’s POV

It was Saturday morning and my parents were dragging me out of bed at 9:00am. I didn’t even get up this early on school days. The fact that school started at 8:45am and I only got up at 9:00am would explain why I am always late. But back to the fact that my parents are dragging me out of bed. They told me to get ready to go out and that they would explain what was going on in the car. So I got dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. But my parents told me not to eat now and we would get something while we were out. Once we got in the car my parents explained what was going on.

“Sweetie, we know last month you and Luka broke up but we found you a new boyfriend that we think will love you and will be good for your future fashion designing career.” Mum said.

“YOU WHAT!?” I screamed as my father stopped the car outside a fancy restaurant that made me wonder who this mysterious boy that I am going to be dating. And were my parents plans going to stop me from going out with Alya that evening for magazine shopping and a sleepover. I’m sure that if I can’t get there then Alya would get them for me.

“Why didn’t you tell me we were going to a fancy place? I would’ve put something more appropriate on.” I said, looking at the restaurant and recognising it as one that Adrien likes.

Adrien’s POV:

I had the day off because my father had found me a girlfriend. I was to meet her and her parents at 10:00am at Etait Un Square. I was currently at a table with my father waiting for my new girlfriend and her parents to show up. We arrived 10 minutes early but the one person I didn’t expect to walk through the restaurant doors was Marinette and her parents.

What I also didn’t expect was to see them walking in my direction. 

Mari’s POV:

When I walked into the restaurant, my dad went to check us in and out the corner of my eye, I saw Adrien. What I didn’t expect was my parents leading me towards him and his father.

“Hi, Adrien.” I said, waving shyly.

“Hey Marinette.” He responded, sounding a lot less nervous than I was.

Then Gabriel spoke up, “Hello, Miss Dupain-Cheng. I’m expect you know what’s going on.”

“Yes.” I squeak, not having planned talking to my idol and definitely not this early in the morning.

Adrien’s POV:

Once we had sat down and ordered, Mari and I were at one table while our parents were at another. I could tell Mari still wanted to be in bed.

“Someone seems tired.” I joked

“I normally get up at 10 at the earliest on weekends. My parents literally dragged me out of bed.” She responded while I laughed. Our food arrived and we said thank you and ate in silence for 10 minutes.

“When did you find out?” I ask

“What?”

“When did you find out your parents arranging this relationship for us?” I asked

“On my way here.”

Mari's POV 

When Adrien asked what I found out I responded I could tell he felt sorry for me. 

"But it was probably the right thing to do." I said obviously catching him off guard. 

"Why's that?"

"Because if they had of told me earlier I would have spent last night at Alya's." I replied. I could tell he felt bad for having me go through everything this day has given me so far.

"Has it ruined any plans for today?" Adrien asked. 

"Not really. I had magazine shopping with Alya planed than 

a sleepover at hers but that shouldn't change because of this." I replied 

"Well that's good." the blond replied smiling. "So after we are allowed to leave do you want to see a movie?"

"Wait are we meant to be spending all day together or something? Not that I mind at all but I wasn't expecting it but yes. I would love to." I rambled making the blond laugh. 

Adrien's POV 

"Yes the idea was for us to spend all day together. Which on the bright side it means I have a free schedule for the first time in what feels like years." I said knowing that it would probably upset her a little how little time I got off. 

"Well then I think a day of relaxing activities would be a good idea." Marinette segusted. 

"That sounds like a great idea." I replied." So movies than maybe lunch depending on how long the movie is and when we leave here."

"That will also depend on how much we eat during the movie." She replied. 

"But if not, maybe a walk around the park or one of our houses for video games. But there's always a chance that our parents are planning our day as well.

"I didn't think of that. I kinda thought that they would be talking about when we were going to announce our relationship."

"I didn't think about the fact that our relationship would go public. But to make sure that we get to do what we want today, how about we leave the restaurant now and head to the movies." Marinette suggested.

"Ok. My father said he would pay so we don't need to worry about that." I replied as Marinette grabbed her bag and put her jacket back on. We ran out of the restaurant and to the movie theater. Once we got there we were  laughing and out of breath. We watched a movie and once it finished it was 1:40 so we decided to go for a walk in the park followed by afternoon tea with Alya and Nino at the Cafe near Alya's house. Our parents had tried calling us multiple times before Marinette's parents messaged her saying that they didn't mind us running off and just wanted to know that we were safe. Marinette replied saying that we were safe. After Marinette replied we told Alya and Nino about our relationship before me and Marinette went to the mall. I was quick to find out going shopping with Marinette was a horrible idea. She refused to let me pay for anything. After that I dropped her off near the food court to meet up with Alya to go do their magazine shopping. I went to a fabric shop nearby and got Marinette some new fabrics with some matching coloured threads. On my way out of the mall I spotted a jewelry store and went in. I ended up getting her a heart shaped necklace that had a black jem cat and a silver jem cat on because her favorite animal is a cat. Luckily for me there was no akuma attack today. I would probably give Marinette the gifts on Monday and maybe get her some chocolates to go with it or flowers or both. Probably both.
