***Exclusive Dan's POV***
The bell rings letting me out of my third period class. 'I feel bad that I couldn't be there for Becca. I hope she took my advice and waited for me to go after Madison.' Being caught up in my own thoughts and not paying attention, my body collides with another which sends us both sprawling to the ground.
"Hey, what the he-Austin?" I begin shouting, but when I realize who it is, I stop. He looks at me apologetically.
"Sorry I didn't mean to make you fall over but I really needed to find you." As he is making excuses, I look at his face and see a few lines of blood drying to the right of his forehead and a decent size bruise forming around his temple.
"Austin, what the hell happened to you?" I say in surprise as I quickly get to my feet and help him up.
"Um-yeah about that. It has to do with Becca..." Austin looks at the white tile floor guiltily and refuses to meet my gaze.
"What is it Austin? Where is Becca?" My blood pressure beings to rise and my heart beat speeds up.
"She's been kidnapped."
"What!" I shriek as the bell rings. "And you're just standing here? When did this happen?"
"At lunch time. Within the first 15 minutes maybe."
"Why in god's name am I just finding out about this now? Did you assist in the kidnapping, is that it?"I ask, slowly moving closer to him, while struggling to keep my rage in check.
"No no Dan, nothing like that! I swear it!" He stammers, backing away from me. "I was knocked unconscious when Becca was ripped out of my grasp. The kidnapper pulled her hand out of my grasp and I hit my head on the concrete. Hence the blood," Austin says pointing to the side of his head slowly. He still is having problems with staring me in the eye, so I'm almost positive he is telling the truth.
"Alright fine. We need to get your head looked at by the school nurse. And while that's happening you're going to tell me exactly what happened. In detail." I reply slowly, Austin nods as we walk towards the office.
"Of course." As we enter the office, the secretary looks up, her eyes widening at the sight of Austin's face.
"Excuse me," I say politely. "We are here to see-"
"Nurse Sarah, front of the office, immediately please." Mrs. Anderson calls out, cutting me off.
"Yeah her," I whisper to myself and Austin chuckles. Within seconds, the stout red headed nurse appears with a first aid kit in hand. She instructs Austin to sit on the cot that is just through the door on his left. The three of us walk in, and I sit down beside him.
"So what exactly happened Austin?" I ask once Nurse Sarah walks out to get more bandages because her kit was apparently empty.
"I was walking towards the cafeteria and wasn't paying attention, accidentally bumped into Becca. She seemed a little distracted and I asked her what it was. She shrugged and said it was nothing. Tried to play it off, you know how she is." He says, glancing up at me. I nod slowly. "Anyway, so I eventually got it out of her that she was going to confront Madison and asked if she wanted back-up. Becca said that she didn't but I convinced her to let me at least observe so I could help if need be, since she still isn't feeling 100% better yet. She complied and walked through the gym doors, almost smacking into Madison. Chad and Derek were with her, of course, but Becca seemed to be unfased, anger coursing through her entire body. Madison kept slowly walking towards the back door of the school and Becca didn't even seem to notice until she was walking out the door. Madison was mocking you, Becca was trying to restrain herself from hitting Maddy. They walked outside and Madison said one thing to Becca before she walked back into the building, leaving Becca outside alone with Chad and Derek. They started walking towards her when I saw someone coming up behind her. I rushed outside and screamed her name, trying to get her to look out...She was grabbed around the waist by some guy dressed in full black, including a black ski mask. He started carrying her over his shoulder towards a black van parked about 10 meters in front of him. I tried to get to her and help, but Chad and Derrek stood in my path and Chad punched me in the face. I hit my head off the concrete and everything started spinning. I saw the two cowards retreat into the school and suddenly Becca was standing in front of me, getting me off the ground with on hand tightly holding her ribs. We started limping away, both of us supporting the other when the man said "come here girl." He grabbed her by the hips and started dragging her towards the van. I tried to pull her away from him but wasn't strong enough and just got pulled along. When he reached the van he made a swift strong pull and ripped Becca from my grasp, which caused me to stumble and strike my head off the concrete again. I remember everything going dark-as Becca screamed my name..." Austin sighs, looking at the floor.
"You tried Austin," I say slowly, resting my hand on his shoulder.
"But he still took her Dan." Austin replies, shrugging my hand off as I grind my teeth together in annoyance and anger.
"Yeah I know. Here, let's get moving. If we're going to get Becca back-we're getting help and skipping school." I get to my feet and start walking towards the door as I hear Austin do the same behind me.
"Where are we going?"
"To speak to retired Detective Andrew Jones."
We reach the Jones' residence within 30 minutes, even including the few breaks we had to take because didn't have the strength to make a fifteen minute walk. Austin straightens his shoulders as I knock on the front door, Andrew opening it a few moments later.
"Boys." He greets us curiously.
"Hello Mr. Jones," Austin replies.
"Hi Andrew," I say, shifting on my feet while gazing down at my shoes. 'How am I ever going to explain this to him?'
"What can I do for you boys? If you're skipping you two better have a damn good reason for it." Andrew says while ushering us inside as he closes the door behind us.
"We do sir." Austin says quietly. I finally muster the courage to look Becca's father in the eye as I regain my voice.
"Mr. Jones, you might want to take a seat. Because all Hell just broke loose." Andrew stares at me suspiciously.
"What have you two gotten yourselves into now?"
"Us? Nothing. This has nothing to do with us." I bite my tongue and look down at the cedar flooring, once again losing my nerve to tell him.
"Well then what is it Daniel, spit it out."
"X kidnapped Becca, from school." Mr. Jones' fav changes from a look of shear panic to raw anger within two seconds, making me extremely nervous to be the one delivering this news to him. Under his breath, I hear her father utter something.
"X, this ends now. Rebecca, don't worry. I'm coming to get you baby girl."
