I stared closely at the old oak tree, as if it was about to do something. It didn't. I found myself slightly disappointed. I turned to watch Astrid throw bread to the ducks in the pond. She seemed so happy just to be outside, that nothing could bring her down. I took my time to get up and slowly walked over to her. She glanced up at me, but continued to feed the ducks. The sun shone on the pond. I saw her eyes sparkle in the water reflections and the wind blew her hair. I placed my coat over her shoulders, she looked up from the pond and kissed me on the cheek. I did my hardest not to smile, which was almost impossible. Without a word she handed me some bread and we fed the ducks together. I walked her home but just as we walked up her drive way, she stopped and stood to watch the sun set. I didn't object and turned to watch it with her.
