Okay, so I've been nominated by Raining_Thoughts to write about bullying and its effects. But first I would like to say that I'm sorry if anybody takes this offensively or personally but this is my personal view on bullying.

------------
I have never been bullied, which I am thankful for, so I don't know how it would really feel to be someone in that position but I have a pretty good idea and it isn't a nice place to be.

You see, bullying is something that happens everywhere, all the time, it seems to be a norm in the modern world when it shouldn't be, it happens in the work place, in schools, in private and generally in society. It doesn't matter how it takes place, bullying is bullying. Full stop.

One of the most well known, and warned about ways of bullying today is through social media, also known as Cyber bulling. An example is someone like Amanda Todd who was bullied online by horrible people after a leaked photo. She tried drugs, alcohol and self harm just to stop the suffering she was going through but none of it helped, all she wanted was a friend. She was lonely, and desperate for someone to listen and understand her. But help never came. On the 12th October 2012, after posting an online video, Amanda committed suicide.

Her video went viral and millions of people started to realise the seriousness of the situation, and took action. Unfortunately, it still goes on a the time.

I noticed that when a person is being bullied the thing that everybody says is to go and tell a teacher, tell a parent, tell a friend. But in some cases it does little to help the situation. The bully isn't going stop because of a few words. I think that we need some sort of program in place, maybe in schools there should be people who are there specifically to tackle the bullying problem.

Some people may only need a friend, someone who is there to understand them and really sort the situation out. I know this because one of my close friends was told to go and tell an adult, and she did but the bullying never stopped because nothing was done, eventually they started talking to the person bullying her and the situation cleared up. My friend was lucky, unfortunately some cases of bullying can spiral out of control, leading people to bad places.

If I can, I will always help and listen to anyone who feels alone, or needs a talk or just a friend. I will always help anyone being bullied, and sometimes even the person bullying, because it's very common that they too are being bullied or are having problems in life, so feel the need to take it out on others.

But to sum this up, I just want to say that to anyone feeling down, lonely or maybe having bad thoughts, there will always be a person out there to help, maybe a friend, a family member or someone off of a helpline. No matter what, you should never feel alone, because the truth is, you are never alone. Hope.
