I began my new life sitting down, surrounded by dusty air and cold darkness.

The screech of metal against metal sent a shudder down my back as the floor shook beneath me. I shuffled backwards on my hands and feet, beads of sweat dropping down my face.

With yet another jolt, the room lurched upward like an old shaft in a mine.

The sharp noises of metal chains and pulleys echoed through the dark elevator.

A strong feeling of fear overtook my senses as the pulley started to speed up. It reached a steady speed of what seemed to be 100 miles per hour.

I squeezed my eyes shut and backed further into the corner.

Just sitting in the dark gives a person a lot of time to think but when I got deeper and deeper into my mind I realized there wasn't anything to think about.

I was able to remember basic things like how to ride a bike just not who taught me. And I remember decorating a Christmas tree just not with who or why.

The metal container I sat in started to get faster and faster until a loud boom echoed off the walls, signifying the end of this painstaking journey.

I sat in the damp dark for about five or ten minutes, until a line of light appeared above my head. It started to spread until there was a large rectangle of light pouring down from above me, the size of the box.

I had to wait for my eyes to adjust before I crawled into the corner, waiting for something to happen. And something did. I saw four arms haul open two metal plates before someone jumped down into the box.

"Day one, Greenie. Rise and shine." The forceful voice spoke. I looked up and saw a tall, blonde boy standing above me, looking really intimidating.

His eyebrow game was too strong. I was feeling really uncomfortable in this situation. I didn't know anyone here and I obviously didn't remember anything.

"Name's Gally. Do you remember anything? Your name? Anything at all?" He inquired.

"U-um... n-no" I stammered. "ALBY! GET THE SHUCKING LADDERS DOWN HERE." He screamed to whoever or whatever was up above.

"It's a damn girl" He mumbled under his breath. Oh.

I could tell I was being stared down by the other boys when I got up. "Okay. Just climb the ladder and let Alby handle it from here." He instructed me.

I obeyed and climbed the unstable ladder until I reached the dirty ground. I could feel the boys' eyes on my body.

A dark skinned boy made his way over to me. He looked to be about 16 or 17. "I'm Alby." He said to me. I got the leaderish type vibe from him.

"Do you remember your name?" He asked. "N-no." I managed. "Okay, we're gonna have you go get some rest. Newt will come with you. Give you a preview of this place and try to answer most of the questions you have. It's too late for your tour and I have something special planned tonight" He explained. "I-I don't know" I stammered.

"It's going to be okay" Alby reassured. I looked down, but looked back up at Alby when a blonde boy walked up to him. "Hey, you alright?" He asked in a strong accent I couldn't place my finger on. I know I'd heard it before.

Then, visions started flashing before my eyes. An asian boy standing before me, playfully punching a blonde boy's arm. I started giggling. "Aww, is little Newt hurt?" The asian guy said sarcastically. "Heh, you wish, Minho" The blonde boy- Newt- said.

Then, I was out. I was back in the wherever I was. I was standing in front of Alby and the blonde boy.

The blonde boy was called... Newt? I think that the asian man called him Newt. "Hey, hey. You with us?" He called, waving his hand in front of my face.

"Yeah... yeah sorry" I replied. "I'm sorry. I need to do this" I said quietly. Alby gave me a puzzled look and Newt asked what was going on.

Suddenly, I made a sprint for the stone doors that opened around the walls. I could hear footsteps behind me and the british voice shout "She's made a run for the maze!"

The maze? We are in a maze? Then, I was tackled from behind. "Hell of a first impression you've made." The blonde boy from before said. I think his name was Gally.

He put his hands over my neck and grasped. My vision started to blur and dark spots were appearing in the corners of my eyes.

Finally, everything was gone and so was my consciousness.

Oh hey. I didn't see you there. I finally updated the first chapter. It took me so long because a) I have school again and I have more work n stuff to do and b) I had to completely redo this chapter from what it was, but the main plot of this story will be on track. Thanks for reading! Byeee!
