"Bam, isn't this the life we've always wanted?"
Sighing out loud in contemplation, I looked over to my right to see my boy best friend sitting comfortably on one of my backyard's recliners. We were sitting by the swimming pool of my parent's house, chugging some beer in the process to clear our thoughts out.
Bambam and I just got back to Thailand, and here we are, drinking our jet lag away. I actually didn't mind the headache that our flight gave me. What really hit me as if I hit the ground rock bottom was the fact that Jennie knew I was still alive.
Yes, Jennie Kim. The supermodel that captured the eyes of the majority but caught my heart's entirety.
Also, yes, ironically speaking, I'm still alive but the person she knew died metaphorically. I'm not the person she used to hangout with, had gotten used to flirting with, to fall in love with, that Lisa tragically died already. Many things happened for that to occur, and every second that I lived after that incident, I regret it.
Just the fact that she kissed me before Bambam and I's flight was enough for me to die over and over again. Just kidding but really. Kidding aside, knowing Jennie, she will really do whatever it takes to find the truth. She's a very determined, hard-working person that would eventually give out a hundred percent of her patience to something she wants to know. In all aspects of the topic of Jen's interest.
But, how would she be able to do that if the reality is everything around her was surrounded by lies?
Bambam sat up and took a sip from his beer bottle, giving me a gaze that made me shook.
"Lalisa, I mean Pranpriya, stop saying nonsense. Is this really the life you wanted ever since? With many prohibitions? With a great, big lie that affects your whole being?"
"N-no, I'm just--" I tried to explain but I was cut off by his words.
"You're just saying that because you're at ease, you're at peace. You and I are chilling in front of your pool with such a relaxing feeling. Wait until you come back to face the reality," He stated, drinking the rest of beer and laying back down to his seat.
Man, he's right.
I just sighed and shrugged, opening my phone later on to check up on our other best friend. "By the way, where's Chaeyoung? It's already dinner and she's not yet home."
"I think she might have something to tell us. She's been acting sus this morning when she saw us at the arrivals."
"Hm," I nodded. "Maybe there will be some explanations later on."
"She was like, I'll meet you guys up later while talking to a random girl. Sheesh, what's up with her?" Bambam imitated Chaeyoung's voice when we see her at the airport earlier.
She was indeed with a girl who had two other people to walk with and after giving us signals, she walked away with those people in a restricted area where airport personnel were only supposed to go through. When I saw the back of the head of that girl she was with, I instantly got goosebumps but I disregarded it due to the climate, I guess. Whatever it was, let's just forget it.
"Bam, I have a bad feeling about this." I looked at my best friend with fear and anxiety.
"Hey, it's going to be alright. After all, you're unknown123 right?" He joked and I walked towards him to give him a playful punch.
"Ya! I told you to stop talking about the past already!" I said, punching him playfully. "But anyways, since you tackled the topic already, I might as well have something to tell you."
