Kendall’s POV:
What’s it like to have everything? I honestly don’t know. My life isn’t perfect--shocker. The world sees me as Kendall Jenner: half Kardashian, model, super rich, famous, pretty, Justin Bieber’s girlfriend… But the world doesn’t see everything. This kind of life entails lies, mistrust, backstabbing, etc. It’s miserable.
“No Bruce! I told you no!” My mom screamed from somewhere downstairs.
I sigh and roll over in my bed. Lately the only thing that can make me smile is Justin. We’ve been together since January. Not very long. Technically we made it official in January but we had been seeing each other before that. He’s the white knight in my story.
I pulled out my phone, checking for any new texts. I frowned at the absence. “This is ridiculous!” I hear my mom scream again. Weakly, I pull myself out of bed and into Kylie’s room. Neither of us likes it when mom and dad fight. I crawl into her bed and cuddle up next to her.
“You okay?” I whisper to her.
“They’re at it again.” She says tiredly.
“I know.” I murmur, running my hands through my hair. I close my eyes briefly in attempt to get some sleep, but the yelling continues downstairs. I sit up and march downstairs. At the foot of the stairs I’m met by one of the camera people for our reality show but she’s not holding a camera. Unusual.
I give her a questioning look. “Your mom doesn’t want that on camera.” She explained quietly. By ‘that’ I knew she was referring to the fighting. Mom had specifically requested that the fights between her and dad be not filmed. I walked to the kitchen.
“Kris, you’re fucking insane!” Dad yelled furiously. Obviously neither of them had registered my presence yet.
“You’re both insane! It’s one in the morning! Shut up already!” I shriek at them. Both heads turn to me. My mom’s eyes drill holes into me. However dad, being the sweetheart he is, gives me an apologetic look. My dad is never an angry person; he’s usually goofy and sweet, so seeing him mad is scary.
“Sorry honey, your mom and I were just having a little-uh-discussion, we’ll be quieter. Go back to bed. Love you.” Dad says calmly. Mom scoffs.
“Okay, love you too.” I mutter.
“Goodnight Kendall.” My mom calls after me as I walk upstairs. I didn’t answer; I just didn’t have it in me.
Kylie peaks her head out of her door. “Are they..?” She trails off. I know what she wants to ask. I shake my head wearily. No one was in tears yet. “Ok. Night.”
“Night.” I whisper back and stumble back into my bed feeling numb and worn out from all the arguing. Lying in bed I realize Kylie and I need some therapy. Retail therapy, that is. Just a little shopping to calm the nerves. After all, shopping is a girl’s best friend.
I woke up and glanced at the clock. 9:23. Enough time to get ready. I ran into Kylie’s room and shook her awake. “Ky! C’mon we’re going shopping!” I giggled. She slapped my hand away.
“Too early.” She groans and stuffs her face back into her pillow.
“Get your lazy ass up.” I tease and pull her covers off.
“I don’t wannaaaa.” She whined.
“Yes you do.” I smirk.
“I have plans Kenya. And those plans allow me to sleep in. Go with Justin. I know you wanna see him.” She mumbles smiling. I do want to see him. I miss him. The mention of his name gives me butterflies.
“Fine. But next time you’re coming with me okay?” I ask raising my eyebrow.
“Okay. Leave now. I want to sleep. Love you.”
“Love you too. Catch ya later.” I shoot her a wink and blow her a kiss.
Despite how things are at home, I don’t let it affect me. I tend to forget about it once I’ve left the house. I find myself going out more and more often. I’m hardly home. I guess it just helps to be away from it. What I really crave is a vacation. Just me, Kylie, Justin, and whoever Kylie brings. Ouu. Hawaii. Or the Bahamas.
I straightened my hair and put on some black leggings, a flowy pink tank, and combat boots. After applying a little makeup I called Justin.
“Hey baby.” Justin greeted and I felt that familiar giddy feeling rise up in my stomach.
“Hey.” I grinned into the phone.
“Whassup?” He asked casually.
“I have a question.” I let the suspense tease him a little.
“And what would that be?” He wondered, catching on to my flirty mood.
“Wanna do something today? Go shopping or something?” I crossed my fingers that he wasn’t busy. I really wanted to see him.
“Baby I can’t, I gotta be in the studio today. I’m dying to see you though.” He sounded regretful.
“Oh, when are you free?” I said trying to hide my disappointment. He’d been working on his new album Believe a lot recently.
“Uh, well, I’m in the studio every day this week.” He clarified hesitantly.
“Okay well have fun.”
“Ken, baby, I’m really sorry. You know how work is…” His voice was soft, a tone I found he only used with me. It was loving and gentle.
“I know. Don’t worry about it, I understand Justin. Have fun.” I smiled despite the fact that he couldn’t see it.
“I’ll take you on the best date of your life next week. I promise. Aight?” He exaggerated the word best.
I giggled. “I’ll hold you to your word Justin.”
“I’ll call you later?” He laughed.
“Okie dokie. Bye.”
“Bye baby.”
I hung up. I thought about it for a second and decided to visit him in the studio later. It’d be a surprise.
