52. Coming clean.

"sooooooooo..... let me get this straight" New said making me nod along,

"YOU AND GUN ARE DATING TOO?" he shouted making me flinch. 

"yes," Gun said. 

if you are confused as to what's happening here... or more or less have forgotten what has happened... you can thank the author for that *aggressively rolls eyes*

well anyways, before we got caught by Pim we had already started to talk about coming clean to our friends, which leads us here.

we came to the trusty playhouse cafe after school and came clean to all our friends. 

"I also have something I'm confused about... according to your story, you guys should have been friendly when the rest of us 'came out' or told you about our relations... why... what happened then? why didn't at least you just tell us that you guys don't hate each other's guts?" Singto asked making Gun gulp. 

"well... there were misunderstandings ~"

"Gun got jealous" I added with a small smirk on my face. 

"did not"Gun argued back.

"really? so who thought I wanted to date his sister so he cut ti~"

"Alright, we get it so shut up now" Gun quickly said making everyone laugh while he got flustered. 

"but it's all cleared up... between us... and also Pim, all because someone is a bit too persistent," Gun said as he held my hand under the table. 

"that's good... wait was that call that night related to this?"New asked Gun leaving everyone else looking like they had a huge question mark on their heads. 

"oh... Uhm yeah... it was, I didn't know who else to call for help" Gun replied.

"mind filling the rest of us in?" Singto said making everyone else nodded. 

"It's nothing I just had a rogue drunk Off in my house that night"Gun shrugged while I grew red with embarrassment.

"do we want to know why?" Krist asked and I shook my head.

"okay let's just move on then," Tay said and I sighed, while new and Gun chuckled. 

"wait so what's your bet about now? why are you guys torturing yourselves?" Win said after a bit. 

"Because I won't lose to him" I shrugged.

"you did already. but whatever helps you sleep better"Gun shrugged back. 

"I thought we were the confusing one" Bright said looking at Win. 

"We thought so too... apparently not" Krist added making everyone laugh. 

"you know I had a feeling that you two would get along," Tay said in a very serious tone.

"Did you now?" New replied mocking his boyfriend a bit making Tay pout while we chuckled. 

"So... wait to sum it all up" New started after a little while. 

"We all... the eight of us ended up being in two rivalry groups because one day Off started to have this sudden urge to make Gun lose the stupid all-rounder competition" He added. 

"and by the end of it all... we're all just idiots" Krist added.

"Why did you hate me though?"Gun asked looking up at me. 

all of a sudden the atmosphere got really tense, the rest looked around. 

"Will you believe me that I didn't?" I replied making everyone confused.

"What?"

"I mean I was jealous of you..." I said making Gun widen his eyes. 

"of me? you how much do you like that competition?" He said making me chuckle. 

"not the competition, I was jealous of how sure you were that you'd win... that it made me mad. plus that day of the competition after you had won... I had heard your dad boasting about you..." I paused, feeling weird talking about this to everyone. 

"I mean I rarely got any sort of motivation from anyone, if I didn't score well my parent would just shrug, after a while it made my efforts feel worthless because no matter what I did it'll be the same. sure I should be happy that my parents didn't scold me for getting lower grades or not winning competitions but it was quite the opposite It just made me feel like what I did or do didn't matter." I sighed. 

once I finished I looked around the table only to see everyone shocked. 

"What?" I muttered.

"We...we didn't know you felt this way Off, "Krist said while Tay who was sitting right beside me just hugged me shocking me.

"I'm okay buddy get off me," I said awkwardly patting on his hand. 

"no hugs can be comforting" he exclaimed making me nod, 

"I'm sure they are babe but hugs from you aren't to him," New said pulling Tay off of me,

"Thanks" I muttered to New who just nodded back to me. 

"ah anyways... this rivalry with Gun actually was the most fun I had in school mainly because he took me seriously. for him, I was actually a competition... or clearly a rival" I said before looking towards Gun who simply looked back at me with a soft smile. 

Both our reason for us continuing to be each other's rivals were pretty much the same, we were just happy that the other person saw us as equals. 

the relationship we are in right now regardless the journey we took I wouldn't change it for anything... I relive it all Riavlalry and all... maybe minus the misunderstanding. 

"so what about the next competition ?"Win asked before sipping on his drink. 

"yeah, it's the last time you guys get to compete" Krist added. 

"yeah and?" I shrugged.

"you guys are now dating, "Tay said stating the obvious. 

"I mean for the competition" Gun shrugged. 

"The rivalry can still be on" I added while Gun nodded along, 

"I don't get you two... but whatever makes you happy," Singto said before raising his glass with the rest nodded along with him while I and Gun chuckled. 

I feel knee-deep in love with my rival, and honestly, I'm sinking further and further.

before anyone comes after me for this ending there will be a few extra chapters involving the two coming out to their families and a few more extra things. 

but for now, this is where I wanted to end this story. I've had this ending in mind I simply felt anxious to actually finish it.
