First of all I want to say some of this will be made up or as I like to call it, historical fiction. Well that's all I have to say. Hope you like it!
King John's P.O.V.
Hmm. I travel on my horse across the streets looking at all the peasants who bow to me. They are all mine. MINE I SAY. I am the king who no one will oppose. I look for any people to arrest. Ooh maybe that noble over there who's wearing gold! He glares. Grave mistake my boy. Grave mistake.
I make a hand gesture and a couple of guards run toward him grabbing him by his arms and dragging him away. I whisper to my royal assistant who wears his head high looking skeptically at the noble.
"Make sure to take his loot as usual." I whisper.
"Of course sire. " He nodded.
We were heading to Runnymede to hunt. It was my favorite place to hunt with it's glorious evergreen trees and skies who were blue that reminded me of the sea. I remember papa once took me sailing when I was a kid. I loved the feeling of the wind in my face. Since we were going hunting I didn't bring much guards because they would steal all my animals to shoot and be in the way.
We were almost there when I heard one of my men go down from a slice of the blade. I quickly turned around at the echo of the sound. The rest of the guards rushed to my aid. The killers were charging and I was scared for my life. Shaking with fear I drew my sword. The whining of horses filled my ears as each guard fell to its death.
I'm not gonna live. My guards are going down faster than you could imagine.
One guard left. He was fighting for his life not mine. The killers came in many and were starting to surround us. I grab my horse's reign and pulled slapping it up and down. I don't care if the horse got hurt. Just as long as I lived. The killers chased after me. We rode towards where we came from.
Unfortunately my horse neighed and rose in its two hind legs and knocked me off. Darn horse. I landed with a hard thud on my back. I think I heard a crack.
I scrambled to my feet and looked for the sword that flew from my grasp, but it was too late. They surrounded me and pointed their swords to me.
No where to run. No where...Fear dominated my body. My body shook. I was scared. I was the king! Do they not know?! Then I must tell them.
"Put down your swords! I am the king!" I yelled trying to act normal.
They started laughing. I took a look at the criminals I would jail later. I recognized one of the criminals. Burnerr the third, a noble. I had taken his father's land about 5 days ago when he died.
"You think it's funny! Well it's not."
They tossed something toward me. I jolted away.
"Here John. Sign this to save your life. If not you're good as dead. " Someone spoke.
I peered at it. Slowly I made my way and picked it up. At the top it read The Magna Carter (The Great Charter). My eyes followed the text reading every little thing.
When I was finished I threw the document.
"How dare you!"
One came forward and put a sword to my throat.
"Sign it! You unfair beast. " He snarled.
I shook and sweat ran from my forehead.
"Please please. Don't kill me. I'll give you 1/3 of the income please!!!" I begged.
Someone laughed,"Still the same when you're about to get killed. "
"W-what do y-you mean?!" I stuttered.
"I'm only going to tell you once now. On the count of three, if you don't sign the document by then, you're life will be gone in an instant. " The person with the sword at my neck snarled with the document in his other hand. He pushed it toward me.
I caught it and obediently signed it with widened eyes. My hands were shaking like an earthquake as I feared for my life. I wasn't even sure if my writing was legible anymore.
As soon as I finished my signature the criminals smiled and cheered.
I took my chance and ran. Ran as fast as I could. I didn't care if my lungs burned and I was taking short breaths. I needed to live. What was sad was I couldn't arrest them anymore. Those filthy peasants.
I found a runaway horse and galloped back to my castle.
When I got there I tumbled in rage. HOW DARE THEY. I knocked over the tables and items. I was helpless now. A king who now had to bow to the law...
