I look so pathetic.

After that surprise attack, I found myself lying, panting on the floor. With blurry eyes, I looked around. It seems like I am the only one who took a critical hit. My body is heavy. I'm still shaking and I was trembling in fear in this creature's sight in addition to feeling cold. Furthermore, I have quite a fatal wound on my leg.

With all my strength remaining, I forcibly pulled myself together and stood up.

I have to fight.

I need to stop being a burden.

Sinubukan kong lumapit sa mga kasama ko kahit pa pagewang-gewang at mabagal ang paglakad. Even though I feel like I'll lose my conciousness any minute from now, I forced myself to stay awake. All this time, I am breathing heavily. With deep and controlled breaths, I took a step forward.

Due to the numbness that I feel, I unconciously bit my lips a little too hard. Something sweet yet followed by a rusty iron taste made its way to my mouth. I just realized that it's my own blood.

Everything is blurry.

My vision is spinning.

I feel so sleepy.

And then everything went quiet. Even though I can't see quite well, it struck to me that I suddenly went deaf. There's something that is ringing in my ear.

This is bad, isn't it?

Although I'm losing my senses, my sixth sense tells me that my team is moving as gracefully as ever. They carry the experience they made in every battle. That it made me feel envy.

I wonder, if I'd also be able to be like them, someday? Kung sana lang ay hindi ako ganito kahina. Only if I was loved by mana.

I feel all sorts of magic flowing in the air. The three of them is really going all out fighting the chimera. Though I couldn't hear anything, I see flashes of light and urges everywhere through this blurry vision. So, this is how high-ranking adventurers are like when they're serious.

However, despite those all powerful spells, the chimera does not falter. It's unaffected. As if it is merely playing with a child. But, like how adults get tired of babysitting children, this creature got bored of them running around and casting amateur-like magic towards it. It suddenly became more aggresive.

I sensed impatience in its movements. Then the ground suddenly started shaking. As I was about to regain my sight, I saw the three of them backed down and put distance between themselves and the enemy. Even before wondering why they did that, I felt an overwhelming amount of energy surrounding the chimera.

Shit!

Without even having the time to run for it, I squeezed all my mana into a shield that I wasn't sure could protect me. I felt despair throughout my system as I only managed to cast a single-layered barrier. In less than a second, as expected, it shattered into pieces and the shockwave threw me flat at the wall.

Even in desperate moments, I'm pathetic as fuck.

I guess this is it. I've reached my limit. Sobrang bigat na ng talukap ng mata ko. I can't lift a single part of my body.

I feel like dying would be the best option now.

I just stayed lying on the ground, defenseless. I sighed. All I could do is observe and feel my surroundings.

It wasn't even a minute when I felt an enormous amount of mana again. It's coming from three directions. They were slowly trying to mix and match the matter they each have. I've heard decent amount of stories and rumors about this. They say you must able to trust each other in other to flawlessly combine your mana. Will this power combined with trust defeat the chimera?
