The day was long and tiring after he arrived in their domicile.Their small house improved due to some renovations but Hyungwon doesn't gave importance to the incremental transformation of their home because 'without the light of the house', it is no more the source of his happines, joy and consolation.
Since her mother works overseas, his father fulfils the abstinence of a mother role and sometimes, he did some sidelines to distract the company of loneliness.
The impact of missing someone in their family distressed them and like a flower in the garden, they left withering through days, months and years. And it takes time before they adopt the change.
"The food is served on the table, go eat after you take a shower." The middle-aged man informed him who's too concentrated in the TV.
"De, daddy bear. How about you?" He asked, careful not to cause any disturbance in the old man's favorite past time.
"I'm done." His father replied nonchalantly.
Hyungwon didn't expects much word from him, so carried his feet heading to his room, but his father called him. "Hyunwonie, you should do advanced reading after your dinner. You're turning grade 11 and school days are approaching fast. "
If his mommy bear is as sweet mother, his daddy bear is a strict father.
"De." He answered with a lower voice. His work consumes all his energy and his body seeks for a comfortable sleep but his father's announcement is more exhausting than his work.
"I only agreed with your part time job, because your mother persuaded me." There's a disapproval at the end of his words.
Hyungwon only wants nothing but to help his parents. They are financially unstable and he doesn't want to see them feel burden. It breaks his heart to imagine how difficult for his parent to earn money and invest for his future. He doesn't want to sit like a bull frog on a lily pad without doing anything worth it. It may torture his bones but thanks to his mom who helped him win over his father's dominion but in one condition - strive hard.
"You promised to study more. You shouldn't have forgotten that." Hyungwon shuts his eyes and turns his shoulder to face his father.
The old man crossed his leg on top of the other and met his son. Behind his thick rimmed glasses, Hyungwon can visioned the standard written in those wrinkles.
The expectation is high and the pressure is there but he understands its relevance. The brighter aspect inspires him and he doesn't want to disappoint his hardworking parents.
Hyungwon nodded and waggled to his room due to exhaustion. After he took a brisk shower, he satisy his empty stomach and obey his father's instruction.
