A fated encounter with the Samurai of the Eagle Union (Author x Iwo Jima)

Almost causing a death

Azure's POV

It's been about 3 weeks since I brought her to rest and since then I've confirmed that it was her, the very girl I created almost a year ago, I was happy to hear that today she was going to be released. I went to get her from the hospital hopefully, it's going to be a nice day.

Hospital

I already find her sitting in the lobby waiting for me, I approach her with a smile.

Azure: "Iwo, you feeling much better."

Iwo: "Yeah, ready to send the Sirens to hell."

Azure: "Good to hear. Let's go meet your new fleet."

Iwo: "Yeah, 行こう." (let's go.)

As soon as we exit without a doubt my worst nightmare and the one person I hoped to never encounter this time. Akagi somehow escaped the clutches of Amagi and I guessed caught up with me finding me with Iwo Jima, knowing what could happen I just moved past her.

Akagi: "Oh, 紺碧様 where are you off to?" (Azure.)

Azure: "Well I'm off to show her around." Well, this answer was true and a way to dodge her but knowing her, she sees Iwo Jima as a threat to her 'conquest' of me.

Akagi: "Well then, I'll eliminate this pest here."

Akagi begins her attack using 式神 (Shikigami), with Iwo slicing it with her Katana clean in half, but the next thing she did surprise Akagi. Iwo pointed her Garand right at her brain which stopped her dead in her tracks. Facing at the end of a barrel sure is scary but Akagi by this point knew almost no fear, until today.

Azure: "Iwo stop." She was just about to pull the trigger of her rifle, but my voice stopped her from doing so.

Iwo was visibly shaken and responded crying: "I'm sorry  兄さん." (Brother) She was shaking unable to put her rifle away, I put my hand gently on her's and slowly lower it until she let go. Even then she still cried. Just then Amagi caught Akagi.

Amagi was catching her breath: "Akagi, why did you leave the room." She then saw her little sister completely silent and horrified, after Amagi caught her breath she spoke again.

Azure: "Amagi, I'll explain what happened maybe tonight for now get Akagi back to your room."

Amagi: "Understood." Iwo Jima soon after collapsed from the horror that she almost killed someone. I brought her back to my room maybe she'll be more comforted there.

Office

Today my secretaries were Yorktown, Zuikaku, and Shokaku. Almost every day I would rotate secretaries in and out. They see me quite tired carrying her all the way from there.

Zuikaku: "What happened?"

Azure: "Well Akagi triggered a switch I knew would cause it, tried to avoid it but almost resulted in Akagi being KIA." They were all visibly shocked by the news.

Shokaku: "Jeez this senior of ours doesn't know when to stop does she."

Zuikaku: "Yeah."

Azure: "Yorktown mind looking after her while I do my work?"

Yorktown: "Sure, but I think it's best to know why it happened now."

I knew that they would have questions so now I guess it's the right time for it.

Azure: "Alright but at least put her in my room first, just in case." Yorktown puts her in my room turns on the fan and tucks her in bed, soon after she closes the door behind her. "Right, to answer that question." I show them the picture. "Do you know who this hull belongs to?"

They shook their heads. (Pretend they never saw the name.)

Azure: "That's Iwo Jima, one of supposed to be 32 ships of the Essex class, to sum up, her construction was never completed due to the war ending, the navy canceled her production and 4 years later she was scrapped. She was 'forgotten' like the other 7, I guess you could say she was seeing nothing but darkness for all those years." They were disheartened by what I said, but I continued.

Azure: "Until the 8th of August  2020, when I decided to make a new character for my book I was simply looking for a unique name. That's when I found her almost 76 years later since her production ceased, I brought her into the light by giving her life. A body, a tone, everything. So having her hear the word death or anything related to it directly pointing at her, she'll lose it because she really treasures this life I gave her."

Yorktown: "I see, that's why Akagi almost killed herself without knowing it."

Shokaku: "Yeah, that senior of ours sometimes really plays with fire."

Azure: "True, I'll also have to explain to Amagi later when I meet her."

Zuikaku: "I'll go in your stead, just look after her." I know that she'll get the message across and I agreed. Shokaku, Zuikaku, and Yorktown took over the work for the day since it's more likely she'll need me by her side.

Evening

Now it's the evening when she woke up I was sleeping next to her. She was shocked to see me.

Iwo: "Waa! sorry if I slept on your bed."

Azure: "No worries, I allowed you to. Maybe you'll calm down knowing you're in my room."

Iwo crying: "I see, sorry if you had to see that 兄さん (brother). I'm sure you think of me as a bad girl."

Azure hugging Iwo: "No, no. I don't see you that way, if anything I understand that you're just protecting what you treasure most right now ... Just cry it out." She cried silently for quite some time before calming down.

Iwo: "I'm better thanks."

Azure: "No worries, I'll get dinner just rest here." She understands and I exit the room got dinner and came back. The rest of the night went smoothly and for now, I'll let her sleep in my room just to keep an eye on her. I close my eyes and soon sleep.

Hi guys, didn't expect me to release another one so soon well here ya go. I chose this path deliberately because I really want to hit with that emotion for this one. After all, it's what I feel most likely how she'll react to me giving her life. So see you.
