Adriana's pov

I woke up to someone knocking on my door. Who the hell is that? I have no friends Nana can't drive... shit I think its Dom. I forgot about our plans today. I quickly put on an oversized hoodie. Don't judge me, I have a thing for big clothes. I run to the door to open it. I opened to revil a familiar grey stormy eyes.

"Hey sweetheart. I see you forgot about our date huh?"

"Yeah sorry I overslept. I hope you don't mind waiting for Orion and I to get ready? You could even wait inside if you want?"

"Sure thing princess." I moved aside to let him in and closed the door behind us.

"Please have a seat. Should I bring you anything?"

"Princess, stop talking and get ready".

"Yeah sorry. I should get going bye".

He let out a laugh and mumbled; cute.

"Mommy?" Orion called out as he walked into the living room rubbing his eyes. As soon as he saw Dom, he ran to him for a hug.

"Hey lil man. How you doing?"

"I'm fine. What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to take you and your mom out. So you go get ready okay buddy?

"Okay". He ran to his room to get ready and I took a second glance at Dom and walked to my room to get ready.

I started by brushing my teeth and washing my face. Orion and I had a bath last night before going to bed so we were good to go. I started working on my hair. I had really curly hair which is difficult to handle some times. Orion got my curls to but his and more cooperative. Whiles fixing my hair I started to think of what Dom though of my apartment. I mean it's not bad. It has a living room and kitchen and two bedrooms with an bathroom attached to each room.

It didn't seem like much but it felt like home and I'm very grateful he didn't make any comment about it. I was done with my hair and decided on wearing a simple floral sundress and a pair of sandals. I took my cross bag and put in my phone, some cash, my ID and my lip balm.

I walked into Orion's room to help him get ready. Ever since he turn four he started doing everything my himself. He told me he didn't need my help getting dressed. I walked into his room to see him dress in a white round neck and blue bottoms. He looked great. I helped him put his sneakers on. He rushed out of the room and I followed behind. I walked into the living room to be met with a familiar grey stormy eyes staring at me. His eyes moved up to meet mine and he smirked.

"Shall we?"

I just nod and followed behind him and Orion who was holding his hand. As we got out of my apartment, he stood next to me while I locked the door. After we walked downstairs to where his car was parked. He unlocked it and helped Orion in. He even had a car seat for him. It seems he is trying to impress me or something. He then open my door for me and helped me in. He then walked to his side and got in. He shifted himself towards me so in was facing me and our heads were so close that if we spoke, our lips would touch. He took hold of the seat belt and strapped me in. He didn't move after that. He kissed the side of my lips and whispered;

"You look very beautiful princess." That gesture was enough to wake the butterflies in my tummy

He then shifted back to his seat and started the car. I was quite at first and I thought if this should work, we need to communicate so I spoke up.

"So Dominic huh. You have a last name?"

"Of course princess, everyone has and its Dominic Vicento".
Oh he's Italian. That explains his accent. "What about you princess?"

"It's Lane. Adriana Lane."

"Okay tell me about you Princess. I wanna know more about you"

He wants to know more about me. There is nothing to tell. It's been me and my son. Speaking of my son, he's awfully quiet. I look back to see him sleepy. He must be really tired. I mean we both didn't sleep on time due to the movie we were watching last night. I turned back and continued my conversation with Dom.

"Well it's just been my son and I. Mummy and son against the world. I had him when I was 21. My parents tried to force me to abort him but I just couldn't. They wanted to save themselves from disgrace and cut me off. They stop paying my school fee and cut ties with me. Because of this I had to drop out of school. I had to work 5 jobs. Then I met this wonderful woman who has helped me alot. She let me stay with her till I was able to get my own place. She helps take care of Orion whiles I'm at work. She has been more of a mother than my birth mother was. So yeah that's all about me".

He did the unexpected. He grabbed my hand off my lap and kissed the back of my hand.

"You're a very strong Sweetheart. Very very strong". He mumbled. I smiled at his words feeling proud of myself. With that he pulled up to this expensive looking cafe. I mean look at him, He reeked of money.

I undid my seat belt and went ahead to reach for the door handle but he locked my side.

"As long as I'm with you Princess, no need to open the door by yourself, got that." I just nod my head. He got down and help a sleeping Orion out of the car. He picked him up and Orion immediately laid his head on his shoulder. This made my heart flutter. This guy is so good with Orion. Maybe I made a right choice giving this a try.

He walked to my side and opened the door for me. He did a little bow and mumbled "my lady". I gave a little smile and got out of the car. He close it behind me and and locked the car.

We walked inside and I was wowed. I mean look at the interior. It gave dark forest aesthetic vibes. I was in love. While I was busy admiring the place Dom was talking to the one of the waiters. He was probably asking where his table was. He started walking towards a table with two chairs and I followed suit. He pulled a chair for me to sit. When I did, I reached out for him to give me Orion but he didn't and instead sat toward and positioned my son on his laps. He called for the waiter.

"Hello Mr. Vicento. Welcome to Calm Street Café. What would you like to order?"

"Before we order, can we get and extra chair for the little guy over here?"

"Sure thing Sir". The waiter left and later on came back with a chair for Orion.

"Okay little man. You sit here so we can eat okay?" My son nod and Dom put him in the chair. He looked a lit bit sleepy.

"Princess what would you and my lil man like to have?".

"I don't know. How about you order for us?" After this I turned my attention to my son and started to have a conversation with him.

"Okay we'll have a plate of everything on the menu."

"Dominic! Are you crazy? How are we supposed to eat everything."

"Waiter, I'm done placing my order so go fetch it." So he was gonna ignore me.

"You know, you're crazy."

"Only for you sweetheart." He smirked at me again this man barely smiles.

I look at him and just turned my attention to my son who was babbling to me what he had a dream about.
