Slight Angst + Fluff

Author's Note: This is the first part of the story, of what may become 2 parts (another chapter with more aftercare and fluff). If anyone wants to know the background of some other things I mention in the story (reader's aversion to physical affection, totally not me projecting my own struggles hahaha, the first time yangie was vulnerable, or how reader and yangie got together) let me know and I will write a chapter regarding that. If you have any requests for reader x yangyang, I put down what I write/don't write in the description.

You were just sitting on the sofa in the apartment you shared with Yangyang. Your last 2 classes of the day got canceled and you were doing your chemistry homework, waiting for your newly established boyfriend to come home. You sighed and ran your hands through your hair. Chemistry was not fun, but it was better to be productive so you could use the rest of the weekend to relax. Just as you were thinking of taking a break, the front door unlocked and in came Yangyang with his back turned towards you.

You moved your laptop off your legs and got up to greet him.

"Yangie? How was your day"

"Fine," he replied coldly

Sensing that something was off, you ask, "Yang are you ok? Did something happen?"

"I'm fine y/n" he said sounding annoyed and placed his math textbook on the dining table, starting to flip through the pages.

You move a little closer towards him, standing right behind him, but not touching him yet, wanting to give him his personal space.

"Ok..." you bit your lip as you paused, trying to think of something to say. 'Well do you want something to eat? I can also make us some hot chocolate or r-"

"I SAID IM FINE OK" he said loudly and in a frustrated voice. "Can I just do my math homework peacefully without you interrogating me?" he said, his voice cracking and his words laced with pain.

You waited for a second and when you looked at where his hands were, you saw a drop of water on the corner of the page. Your heart broke, knowing that Yangyang was crying. Quietly you said "Yangyang, you don't have to talk to me if you don't want to. I understand that it can be hard to talk to someone about what's going on, but I'm here for you if you need. Take your time, I'm not going anywhere, ok?"

You decide to wait a few more seconds before going back to your seat and sure enough, he sniffed and turned around. His normally lively and mischievous eyes were glassy, filled with more tears on the verge of falling down his cheeks. "I'm sorry for yelling at you" he choked out before he took two steps forward and fell into your embrace. You wrap one hand around his back and place the other on top of his head, holding him protectively. He had only been this vulnerable in front of you once before and it didn't hurt any less the second time. He buried his face into your neck and made himself as small as possible, gripping onto your sweatshirt tightly with his fists. Every few seconds you would hear him whimper and take in a shaky breath, trying to contain his sobs.

"Yangie," you said softly, running your fingers through his hair and slightly rubbing his back to ground him, "It's ok to cry, don't try to stop yourself"

He let out a hiccup and curled into your body more. As this happened, your grip on him slightly tightened.

Yangyang cried for about a good 10 minutes, sobs wracking his body and sniffling. Every whimper he let out made you want to cry as well. You felt hopeless at the moment because you couldn't do much to console him and take away his pain. You hoped that your ministrations of rubbing his back and stroking his hair helped him even the slightest bit.

After a few more minutes of sniffling, Yangyang seemed relatively calmer. You pressed a kiss to his forehead and loosened your grip on him, attempting to pull back and look at his face. However you quickly stopped once Yangyang let out a broken whine.

"Yangie, I'm not going anywhere ok?"

"No... just like 5 more minutes" he said, keeping a tight grip on your sweatshirt. "Please," he added on desperately.

"Ok, I'm not going anywhere. I've got you."

You wrapped your arms back around him and pressed a kiss to his head, beginning to slowly rock him side to side. After a few more minutes, you slightly pulled back again, and when you didn't hear any noises coming from Yangyang, you moved enough so that you had enough space to cup his cheeks with your fingers. You wiped the stray tears that hadn't dried with your hands and then covered your fingers with the sleeves of your sweatshirt, patting his face dry. After that, you let go of his cute cheeks and kissed him on the forehead. The entire time, Yangie had been quiet, staring at the ground. He looked so small, reminding you that he actually was younger than you and needed lots of reassurance.

Taking a deep breath, you began. "Yangie-"

"Wait, I like just wanted to say that I'm sorry."

"Yang you have nothing to apologize for. You're allowed to feel upset sometimes, you are human and have emotions. I-"

"I know that, but like I'm still sorry you had to deal with all of my crying and me being, like clingy. I know you don't like hugs or people touching you, so I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," he said, still intensely staring at his feet.

Putting one hand gently on his shoulder, you replied "I'm here for you through anything, no matter how big or small the help you need may be Yangie. And with the physical affection thing, you are one of the few exceptions. I trust you and you make me feel safe, so I don't feel uncomfortable when you try to hug me."

You move your hand and grasp both of his before continuing. "If hugs or physical contact make you feel safer and better, you don't even need to ask. Even if you aren't sad, I won't push you away for needing help or wanting to cuddle"

He blushed and finally looked up at your face. "Thank you y/n. For everything really" he sniffed and wiped his nose with his jacket sleeve (You internally cringed but let him continue. You would scold him for using his sleeve when he was feeling less sensitive). "Like I don't know what I would do without someone as supportive, o-or as willing to help."

"Mhmm, you don't need to thank me Yangie," you said with a small smile.

You wrapped one hand around his waist, "C'mon, let's go and get changed so we can relax for a bit." You led him towards his bedroom.

Author's note pt2: I hope you guys liked it :) I'm sorry for any grammatical mistakes, like switching tenses and stuff. Yes, I am a highschool student and I should probably be good at that kind of stuff, but I'm super busy and I tried my best. This is my first fic, so please give it some love. Like I said at the top of this fic, if you have requests of what I should write next, let me know in the comments.
