Author's Note: Happy late bday Mark!!! Sorry for not posting for a while- lol I promise this isn't going to be your typical wattpad author's note in which the author's life turns upside down but they still manage to write the next chapter. I just went on vacation with some family friends and I didnt get the time to rlly write bc we were busy and I sorta didn't want to do kpop related things around them (they've judged me for listening to kpop before and idk why it's such a big deal bc it's literally just music??? Make it make sense.) Anyways, sorry for taking so long to update this book, but I'm back now. Hopefully u guys enjoy this chapter :)) and plz ignore my terrible grammar mistakes lol (its 2 am where I live rn)
Yangyang felt horrible. Ten and Kun have been awfully stressed, and as the oldest geges in WayV, they had a lot to worry about. Today, both of them were stuck in meetings with the staff- Kun having to deal with producing and writing their new album, and Ten having to come up with choreography for those songs. That left the other 5 members to practice on their own.
To say that practice went terrible would be a major understatement. Yangyang could not get the steps down and it left both him and the other members incredibly frustrated.
"Yangyang," Xiaojun said firmly, "What is up with you today?"
"S-sorry," he stuttered. "I'm just really tired gege. I'll get it eventually."
"Aish Yangyang. We're all tired. You should have gone to bed earlier," Winwin sighed.
Yangyang was looking at his shoes and whispered another sorry. Hendery rubbed his back and it made him feel slightly better knowing that not all of his members were upset with him at the moment.
"Ok, let's run through something older instead and then do the new choreo so we can all calm down," Hendery suggested.
With a nod from Winwin, Lucas put on Turn Back Time. Even though the choreo was hard, it was something they all grew to love and enjoy practicing.
However, it seemed that Yangyang's limbs were working against him today. Everything was going well until it was time for the chorus, where it became apparent that his movements were too slow, causing him to unintentionally hit Lucas's arm and trip Winwin during the formation change.
Winwin luckily managed to catch himself, lessening the impact of the fall. But oh boy. If Yangyang wasn't on Winwin's good side before, it was definitely a lot worse now.
"Yangyang! What was that?!" Winwin snapped.
"W-winwin-ge, I d-d-didn't mean to hit Lucas-ge o-or make you fall. It was an a-accident, I swear," Yangyang choked out, starting to internally panic.
"What if Winwin had gotten seriously injured from your carelessness Yangyang? Do you know how much that would cost us?!" Lucas furiously said.
"God, you are the main dancer Yangyang, you can't make such mistakes and slack off like you have been." Xiaojun frustratedly sighed (is frustratedly even a word cause idk).
Yangyang's eyes began to well up with tears; he was extremely hurt by the fact that his older brothers didn't think he was taking practice seriously. He really was trying his best.
"I h-haven't been slacking off. I'm trying-" he said quietly, trying to defend himself.
"Then why isn't it working, Yangyang?"
"I-I," he sniffled, "I don't know." Yangyang looked defeated and couldn't help but stare at his shoes while his geges looked at him as if he was a burden to their team.
"Hey, what's going on? Why is everyone so quiet?"
The 5 members turned to the practice room door and saw Kun and Ten walking in, looking tired but concerned at the tense atmosphere.
"Kun-ge we-" Xiaojun began but he was cut off by Ten.
"Oh my baby. Yangyang come here" he said after seeing Yangyang's upset expression.
Yangyang quickly walked over to Ten and buried himself in Ten's warm embrace. He let out a whimper and all of the members collectively felt their hearts break. Winwin, Xiaojun, Lucas, and Hendery felt absolutely awful for how they acted towards their precious maknae.
"Wait, hold on baby, why are you crying?" Ten asked, becoming increasingly worried.
Kun walked over to the pair and ran his fingers through Yangyang's hair, hoping it would calm him down.
"It's our fault," Hendery began, "Yangie was offbeat and kept messing up today, and we sorta became frustrated."
"Mhm sorry for not being good enough," he whimpered, words slightly muffled as he had his face buried in Ten's sweatshirt. Despite that, all of the members managed to clearly hear Yangyang and were quick to reassure him otherwise. There was a chorus of "no" and "you are more than good enough Yangyang."
That didn't seem to ease his worries because he hiccuped and curled further into Ten.
"Baby don't cry, don't cry Yangyang," Ten whispered while rubbing his back.
The members felt extremely guilty, and angry with themselves for treating their sweet youngest brother so terribly.
"Yangie," Winwin said. "I didn't mean anything that I said. Ge doesn't think you are an awful dancer. Today is just an off day and that's ok. I'm sorry for not being as patient as I should have been and for not listening to you when you said you were tired."
"I'm sorry too Yangyang. I know you were trying your best, I shouldn't have yelled at you." Xiaojun wiped his eyes and sniffled. He didn't mean to make Yangyang feel worthless.
"I'm sorry for not defending you Yang," Hendery added.
Lucas, overcome with emotion, choked out a sorry. He felt as if he scared his younger brother and never wanted to be the cause for his pain ever again.
"Baby can you look at me please?" Ten asked. When he didn't hear any objections, he pulled away from Yangyang and cupped his baby's face in his hands. Ten gingerly wiped Yangyang's tears and looked him in the eyes. "Yangie, no one is mad, ok? You are more than enough, baby. You don't have to change anything about yourself because you are amazing. There may not be anyone in the world who is perfect, but you come pretty dang close."
Yangyang softly smiled at Ten's comforting words. Kun took that as his cue to envelop Yangyang in another hug and kiss his forehead. The giggle that Yangyang let out brought a smile to all of their faces.
"It's ok geges. I forgive you. And thank you Ten-ge and Kun-ge."
The boys smiled in relief, feeling much better now that Yangyang wasn't angry at them.
And if it wasn't obvious, when the members went home and ordered takeout, Yangyang was the one in charge of choosing what to eat. There may or may not have also been a huge sleepover in the living room with lots of fighting over who got to sleep next to their precious maknae. Lucas and Hendery also may or may not have won that battle.
