Convinced.

CHAPTER 3
Narub sat down with his hands on his heads. Here he was asking his wife to talk to his son and prevent him from withdrawing from the war but she won’t still agree. He wondered if he was cursed or what.
“I understand how you feel but you know Adonak won’t still listen to Me.” she paused for some moments then she continued “But if you still insist I would do it” Narub could not believe his ears. Did she actually mean it? He turned and looked at her. He tried to speak but it seemed to stick on his throat. Dinah was his wife, but she hardly agreed with what he said. Though he didn’t support the idea of going to war but that was his only option. He couldn’t return Jeanette to her father because it was already late and returning her now would mean surrendering to them. Now he finally convinced his wife to talk to Adonak and there was no way she was going to stop it. He just prayed that Adonak won’t listen to her.
“Em Dinah I …. Actually” Narub stammered
“I would speak to him Narub so don’t bother” she said and walked out of the room. On the top of the city wall stood Adonak viewing the plains below. He was busy with his thought that he didn’t notice his mother come in.
“Adonak” she called him with her sweetest voice. Adonak turned looking startled.
“Mom” he said looking surprised. “You didn’t announce you were coming” he said avoiding her eyes.
“Adonak. What’s the problem?” she asked.
“Nothing mother” he replied as quickly as possible. He knew the reason why his mother was there but he wasn’t just ready to start a conversation with her.
“There is something” she replied almost immediately. “How can you say there is nothing when you won’t even talk to me, Tell me what happened? Why are you so moody? Or did you quarrel with your father again?” she asked determined.
“No! I didn’t. Mum I’m not in the mood to talk about anything so don’t try to force me to say anything”
“Why won’t I? Adonak you can’t just keep lying to me. The truth is this, your father does not mean to fight this war but he has to...
“Why mum? Why would he want to fight it? He was wrong so he should apologize.’
“I know but apologizing would mean...”
“Would mean surrendering to them.”
“I know Adonak we might not be able to determine the future, but we can make the future, now is the only chance we’ve got and if we do not make a move ‘NOW’ would be a thing of the past.” She paused to know whether it was safe to continue, she looked at adonak and was impressed that her words were making sense to him.
“Dear” she continued, placing her hands on his shoulders “after years of victory and a year of failure other nations might see us as losers while some would take us as winners. This is the only chance we have to prove ourselves. The time we’ve got to prove our enemies wrong and our associates right.” When she was done with talking she patted his shoulders {like she always did after giving out a motivational speech} and left.
