"If you want to be a hero that badly, there's a quick way to do it. Believe that you'll be born with a Quirk in your next life and take a last chance dive off the roof!" Bakugou smirked at Midoriya as his words echoed in Midoriya's head like daggers through his soul.

As Midoriya walked home, he tried to shake off those words but they kept fighting their way back. "Why is Kacchan such a jerk? All I have ever wanted to do was be his friend!" Midoriya thought back to his dream to be a hero and remembers how no one has ever supported him, "Why did I want to be a hero in the first place? I just wanted to be like All Might...." His voiced cracked as he said the name. "What was I thinking? I couldn't be farther away from him." He chuckled to himself. "Everyone's right I should just give up... I have been fighting for so long, but I was only trying to push away the truth. I just made everything harder for myself." Midoriya tilted his head back and stared at the sky, watching as the cloud became thicker and felt the wind pick up, blowing his hair in his face. Soon, he felt as his emotions began to overwhelm him. He tried to hold in the pain and sorrow he had felt for so long but it it was always useless. Tears seeped out of his eyes and down his cheeks. He brought his hand up and furiously wiped them away, but they continued to pour down his cheeks. Just as soon as his tears began, the sky began to pour, as though it was crying with him.

"I give up, you were right Kacchan, just like always. You were always stronger and smarter than me." He mumbled and began laughing through his tears. "I can never be a hero. I could never be like All Might! I couldn't even stand up to a bully. I can't do this, I'm done fighting. I never stood a chance to begin with. If I disappeared, no one would probably even care or notice." As Midoriya looked up he saw that he was crossing a bridge. 'Huh, I must have come here subconsciously. Well, here is my escape from this hell.' As he approached the railing, his tears slowly stopped, a feeling of numbness replacing his grief. Once at the railing, he stopped and leaned on it. The breeze was strong and smelled sweet, it was relaxing, almost soothing. He slid his bag gently off his shoulders, placing it against the railing. He then slipped off his shoes and placed them neatly beside his bag and smirked to himself. For a moment Midoriya didn't believe what he was doing, "Am I really going to do this?' That second of doubt quickly disappeared as he slipped through the railing, crawling over on to the other side of the bridge railing. As he stared blankly at the water below him, he saw the rushing current dragging away anything that was unfortunate enough to get caught in it's currents.

He leaned forward slowly, his hands still holding the railing tightly. Though before he could let go, he heard someone scream at him. He turned around to look and saw Bakugou running towards him. Midoriya considered letting go before Bakugou could reach him but decided he wanted to say goodbye to his childhood friend one last time.

"Who does that stupid nerd think he is! He's just a small little pebble on the side of the road!" As Bakugou was walking home, he decided to take the longer route home to cool off. He was frustrated and enraged. "The damn nerd doesn't have a Quirk! He is weak and can't even fight!" As he continued down the bridge he recalled what he had last told Deku. 'Why would I tell him to do that! I could get in so much trouble if I get reported.' He screamed in his head as he kicked a pebble. He watched as it rolled and suddenly heard someone crying. "What the hell?" He looked up and ended up seeing Deku crying. "Why is that fucking nerd always crying... is it because of what I said?" He mumbled to himself. He felt something wet tap his shoulder and soon the tapping turned into pouring rain. "Great, now I am going to be soaked when I get home." He grumbled to himself.

As he started walking again he remembered seeing Deku crying and turned around to see if he was still there. When he turned around he saw that Deku had put his bag against the railing of the bridge that Bakugou had just crossed and watched as Midoriya slipped off his shoes. "Why the hell is he taking off his god damn sho...?" Before he could finish his sentence Midoriya slipped through the railing to stand on the other side. "Wait, why would he... fuck!" Bakugou's heart froze and he felt his bag slide off his shoulder. Time stood still as he watched Midoriya stare down at the water under the bridge

'Move, move, move.' Those words just kept repeating in his head. Bakugou felt himself take a step forward and then screamed at Deku. After that first step, Bakugou took off running towards him and called out to Deku trying to get his attention. When he was a couple meters away from Deku, he froze. Deku had put his hand up to stop him. Usually Bakugou would get pissed at someone telling him what to do but all he could think of was getting him back over the railing and away from the edge. "Deku, please listen to me, I don't know what you are thinking but you are making a huge mistake, please come back over the railing." It was clear that Bakugou was crying by now, even through the rain.

Midoriya looked at him with tears in his eyes, a small smile forming on his face. "You won't have to deal with me anymore, Kacchan! I won't bother or burden anyone anymore." The tears in Deku's eyes started falling down his face again, joining the rain drops as he turned back to the rushing water. "I hope you are right, I hope I get a quirk in my next life..." His voice trailed off and he looked over to Bakugou one last time. Deku's mouth moved, saying something but Bakugou couldn't hear it over the static in his ears as adrenaline rushed through him. Deku's fingers released their grip on the railing and pushed away.

Everything turned into slow motion for Bakugou. He screamed Deku's name as he jerked forward to try and grab him. A spark of hope flickered in Bakugou's chest when he felt his hand wrap around Deku's arm... but as soon as he had gripped it, Deku yanked his arm away and fell off the edge. Frozen in shock, Bakugou watched as Deku disappeared off the bridge and into the rushing waterway.

Before Bakugou could even think twice about it, his body climbed over the railing and jumped in after Deku, bracing for the impact below. He watched as the water grew close and closer before it swallowed him up. Bakugou gasped when he felt the cold water surround him before violently gagging from sucking in water. He shot up above the water for a moment before he was quickly dragged back under. His eyes opened up, only to see darkness. His clothes felt like weights as he sank father down. Bakugou pleaded to whatever god there was out there that he would find Deku alive. He started to struggle to get back to the surface, jerking his jacket off to try and lose some of the weight dragging him down. After a few terrifying seconds, he broke through the surface of the water.

Once again, he gasped a breath of air in, only to be dragged back down again. 'I can't find him like this! I need to get to shore before I drown!' He kicked desperately towards the shore, pushing against the current as much as he could. His feet soon hit something solid which he pushed off of, only to hit more of it. He realized that he was feeling the shoreline and started pushing off it faster. As he dragged himself onto the bank of the rushing water he jerked around to see if he could find any sign of Deku. He childishly hoped that Deku had grabbed onto a branch or something on the side of the river but he was nowhere to be seen. No sign or evidence of what had happened anywhere to be seen. "This, this can't be happening..." he muttered to himself in shock.

Bakugou sat there frozen, processing what had gone down in less than minutes. When it finally registered that he had just watched Deku kill himself, his heart stopped and his ears started to ring, the world around him blurring out to nothing. His breathing slowly began to quicken before he started screaming in panic, "Deku's dead and it's all my fault! I told him to do it and he listened! Why? Why would he listen to that out of everything I have ever said to him? Oh my god, I killed him. I killed Deku!" The last sentence quickly began playing on loop in his head. 'Why would he do this? It was just a stupid comment. I just wanted to get on his nerves. But he actually took them seriously.' Bakugou sat there in shock, time passing by without a care. Suddenly he felt something touch his arm, causing him to jump up and turn around, wishing it to be Deku but instead saw a man in a costume, a hero...

Bakugou stared at him blankly for a couple of seconds before choking out a sob. "I killed him! I told him to kill himself and he listened! It's my fault!" He started freaking out, screaming, crying, and pushing away anyone who tried to get near him. "I tried to stop him! I tried to grab him, but he just pushed me away! I tried to save him but it ended the same! I killed him!" He screamed before his vision faded and his world turned dark.
