Half a year has passed and everything seemed so perfect now. I’ve finished my work with Mico’s office. As expected but without biases, he liked the whole thing. After making sure that everything was okay and all the items on my punch list were checked, I decided to talk to Tito Johnny. I decided to stay in the country for good and move to a different firm. I explained to Tito Johnny everything that happened with me and Mico. He was a bit hesitant to let go of me first, but I told him that my decision will make things easier for Carlos and for everyone. Though Mico and I have patched up things with Carlos, I know it will still be awkward with him. I know Carlos will find the right girl for him now that he’s part of the eligible bachelors who even passed the board exam for architecture with flying colours. I thanked Tito Johnny for everything that they did to help me. I told him that I may be working for a different company, but they can still ask any help from me.

For me and Mico, things started to go back to the way we were five and a half years ago which I thought is never going to happen. But this time, our relationship became deeper. We make our decisions together. We tell everything to each other. We promised that there will be no misunderstanding between us. He even introduced me to his grandfather. He looked just like an older version of Mico. He wasn’t scary as I thought of the man who once disapproved of our relationship and who once promised Mico to bring me back to him whatever it takes.  He even let me win a game in chess. I guess he’s the grandfather who only wants what’s best for his one and only grandson.  Our parents have met and I was surprised to see how they became best of friends all of a sudden. We were happier and most of our wounds are starting to heal. In no time, we’ll be a brand new couple.

Today was Mico’s birthday. I planned a surprised birthday party for him. For a whole week, I drowned myself in preparation for the event since I got myself into events planning as my sideline. I told Mico that it was for a VIP who used to be my client. He got a little over protective since he didn’t know that he was the VIP I was talking about. He even accompanied me in all the process I’ve been doing for his surprise birthday party. He wasn’t even going to his office regularly. He’ll just drop by for his meetings and do his work inside the car while waiting for me. He’s so cute when he does that. But what I was waiting for was his reaction when finds out that the project I’ve been working on is for him. I’m so excited.

I woke up early in the morning. Everything was set up for the party. Everyone I’ve invited confirmed their attendance. The only thing I have to do is to bring Mico to the party without him knowing that it was actually for him. I went to his house and his parents just let me inside his room.

“Good morning!” He didn’t respond. I guess he was still in deep sleep. I went towards him and tried to wake him up. “Happy birthday, Mico.” I said as I caressed his face and stroke his hair. He moved a little and pulled me towards him. He hugged me tightly and whispered to my ear.

“Why are you here so early, Love?” He said with eyes still closed.

“I’m here to greet you happy birthday because I will not be available later. It’s the VIP’s party, remember?”

He opened his eyes and faced me. “Today’s my birthday, Arabella and you want to spend the night with people you don’t actually know?”

“Why don’t you come with me then? You can be my assistant. What do you think?” I raised my eyebrow and smiled at him. “Then I’ll give you my present after?”

He pulled me into a hug again. “Hmmm. I’ll agree to that if you give me a kiss.” He released me from his hug and cupped my face. His face is only inches from me. He was about to close the gap between us when the door burst open. “Mom! Dad! Can you please knock?” We laughed as he complained.
