It was clear that in someone's backpack there was a bow and arrow. From that bow and arrow the person probably knew how to use it and thus shot Jisung. But still Jisung came out before Johnny, so did it mean that whoever did this returned to the school to shoot Jisung? Or was the person actually a bad shooter that when he saw someone not running for their life, he shot them but missed? If so, that would explain the several other arrows that were wedged onto the grass field.
Also if that was the case, maybe Jisung wasn't hit that deeply, maybe he was unconscious. In any case Johnny moved down the steps closer to the body that was until, right before his eyes, a silver object whizzed down. Yes, it came from above. If he even moved any closer to the body, he would have been shot. Swiftly he looked up and shuddered when he realised the person must've been on top of the hood of the exit, he snatched up the arrow that was intended to kill him. He ran to his left looking up, seeing a dark shadow looming above the hood, the shadow pointed its weapon ready to shoot- to surprise the figure Johnny threw the arrow at the shadow. Thanks to his star shortstop, the shadow groaned and held his face before it lost balance and fell down with a loud thud. Johnny heard it groan, he dashed to the place where it fell only to see a stash of silver arrows and a motionless body.
Doyoung?
Doyoung was participating in the game? What? No- he should've been helping us.
But why?! Why!
He shifted a bit and Johnny was ready to run that's when he also heard the double doors behind him open up. He needed to get out of there- hold on, it was Suyang. Suyang held her breath beginning to come down the steps hastily, limping with a hand on her leg. Johnny ran towards Jisung's body, shaking his head when he felt no pulse on his neck before running back to Suyang. There was no doubt Jisung was dead.
He took Suyang by her hand. "We need to run! I know your leg hurts- but do your best to run, okay?"
She nodded her head just as Johnny began running half dragging her hoping figure behind him. Waiting in front of the building for Taeil or somebody else was out of the question, especially since Doyoung was still there. It was too dangerous to stay there.
What if the others were just like him? Ready to kill and not listen to what the others had to say? But why would Doyoung even participate? Johnny had no choice but to change his attitude towards the game, considering others could be brainwashed into thinking that killing is the only way out.
Because it isn't.
It shouldn't be at least.
Not without trying.
Killing isn't the only way out, there had to be some sort of other alternative. Whatever it is, Johnny would head towards it or at least, if this was really the end then he would protect Suyang. It's what Shotaro would've wanted and also what he himself wanted. Right now, she was the only one left beside him.
Once far away from the tennis court and into the grove and wood trees everywhere Suyang lets go of Johnny. "Please, please, please, let's stop. It hurts. It hurts. My leg hurts."
He pants and rests behind a tree as Suyang crouched down carefully looking down at her leg trying to catch her breath.
"Was that Jisung?" She voiced quietly. Johnny nods his head. She shakes her head not believing it. "Who could've done t-that to him? Who?"
"Doyoung."
"What?" Her eyes shot to Johnny. "As in jokester Doyoung?" without waiting for a reply she stood up. "We have to warn the others,"
"Suyang... What if the others are willing to play?" Johnny turns his head to her, managing to see her hair frizzled all over her face. "We need to get out of here. Speaking of which, how did you manage to get out? Wasn't Jungwoo behind me?"
