The first period had gone by quickly, considering he and Clay spent most of it introducing themselves. He was nice, it almost seemed like he knew George before, but he was sure he hadn't, Clay was new to the school. Today was his first day. "Alright, thank you for coming, and class is over for today." The teacher announced. All of the students started to pack up their things, including Clay and George. "Hey since we have class together all day" Clay started, "do you want to walk with me?" "Sure, I just have to go to my locker." George replied with a smile. "That's fine!" They both walked out of the classroom and Clay was just following the brunet like a puppy.
Clay's POV:
God... This guy isn't like any other girl or guy I've met before, he's so handsome and sweet, what would give to touch his silky chocolate hair and to hold his small delicate hands. No. What am I on about? I'm literally straight?! Right..?
No one's POV:
"Clay?" George repeated. "H-huh?" Clay looked up, clearly being shaken out of his thoughts. "Are you ok?" The brunet asked. "Yea, sorry I just zoned out. My bad." Clay stampered. "Hmm.. okay, if you say so." George replied, Clay seemed 'out of it' to say the least, even though George had known him for like an hour and a half, he was good at reading body language. "Do you have a locker?" the brunet said starting a conversation. "I don't, no. I don't really want one though, all of my stuff is small enough to fit in my bag." Clay explained. "Ah ok, I only have one because I keep all of my subjects in different binders, so my bag gets really heavy." George said, placing a hand on the back of his neck. "So Georgie, what kind of music do you listen to? I saw you with your earbuds in at the beginning of class." Clay said with a soft smile as they walked. "Number one, don't call me 'Georgie'" The brunet told him off. "I'll make sure to call you that more often" The blonde fought back, earning an eye roll from the shorter. "And I don't really have a specific type of music I listen to, anything but country is fine with me." George mentioned. "That's cool! I like music, some like aggressive, some of it like soft and lowkey ya know?" Clay beamed. "Yea." George gave another bland response but he meant it, he just didn't know what to say
They both continued to talk as they walked to the brunets locker, mainly talking about music and classes they had. On their walk, George had learned that Clay had previously played soccer, basketball, and football, he was going to be signing up for football this year as well. George wasn't much of a sports person but he enjoyed watching them, just not playing them.
"Hey, this is random but do you maybe want to come over today and listen to music or some shit? I don't know we could introduce ourselves a little more in-depth?" Clay questioned. "Yea that sounds fun! I just have to shoot my mom a message whenever I get the time." George said.
They continued on with their day, talking when they could. But as soon as it started, the school day was over and they were headed to Clay's house. The blonde enjoyed the walk to his house as well, though it was shorter than George's it was still a fifteen minute walk. Eventually, they had reached Clay's house and George finally sent that message he meant to send to his mom earlier. As he thought she would, she was fine with it. "Okay, we can go ahead and head up to my room if you'd like?" Clay explained once he and George were inside. "Yea that's fine." George agreed. He was distracted, whether it was because of the blonde's beautiful house or his beautiful face. George might be unlabeled but he knew he wasn't straight, he had felt this way about humans that weren't females, before, he knew that. They had headed up the stairs and turned to left, walking into Clay's room. He wasn't an only child but he did have the biggest room out of all of his siblings. "Wow, your room is really nice!" The brunet liked room decor, he liked organizing and setting things up the way he wanted them. "Thanks, Georgie" Clay said bringing back the stupid name. "I told you not to call me that shit head." George growled back at Clay. "Oh whatever, anyways, grab my phone, you can shuffle my music and see which songs you know" Clay explained. "Like a game I guess." "Ah okay" The brunet agreed, he liked listening to other people's music, to get their vibe and see what they were like behind the face.
They listened to music for a while together, having small conversations here and there, and the question finally came up. "Random question," The blonde started. "are you straight? Not calling you gay or anything, just wondering." The blonde made sure to back himself up.
Clay's POV:
'shit shit shit, I wasn't calling him gay I just wanted to know damnit'
No ones POV:
"I'm not sure, I don't give it much thought, I guess I just date whoever I'm interested in, which is normally no one, I haven't been in a relationship in like two years. The last one I had was really toxic." George explained. "Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't asking to be rude, I was just wondering." Clay was making sure he didn't come off as rude, he had a good feeling about George, a feeling that he would change things. For the better. "What about you? If I had to guess I think you're straight, but I could be wrong." George returned the question. "Oh uh- I don't really know, I've always thought I was straight but recently I saw someone and I could be wrong, but I have to get closer with them before knowing." The taler said, not making it obvious he was talking about the person sitting right in front of him. George felt his heart hurt for a second, he wasn't sure why. It wasn't like he was in love with Clay, he just met the kid. "Oh ok, cool. I hope everything goes well with you too, and you find out who you are. " George finished with a smile.
An hour or two had gone by of small conversations and questions, some of it just sat in silence listening to the music. "Hey, this has been really fun but I think I should get going" The brunet started, breaking the comfortable silence. "Alright, I'll see you tomorrow!" Clay said with a smile. George smiled back and walked himself out.
Clay's POV:
'man, this kid is cool. Am I really attracted to a guy? I don't know, nor do I feel like giving it thought.'
No one's POV:
Eventually, George had gotten home and continued with the usual, go to his room, do his homework, eat with his mom and sister, scroll on Twitter and Instagram, and take a shower. Once he was finished with his shower he found himself tired. As soon as he was untucking the sheets from the mattress, he got a notification from Instagram. 'Clay :) started following you' it read. 'Okay cool, no big deal' George thought, following him back. He had put I his earbuds and fallen into the place he goes to rest every night. He thought about Clay in his dreams, dreams he normally wouldn't have.
