My name is Y/N Barrus, I'm 22 years old and I have misophonia. Misophonia is a condition where one or more common sounds (such as the ticking of a clock, or the chewing/breathing of another person) can cause an emotional response. (such as disgust, distress, panic, or anger) My triggers specifically involved loud repetitive tapping, like if someone with boots bounced their leg on a tile floor or when someone taps their pencil on their desk. While visiting my boyfriend's family, his brother, Shaun, began bouncing his leg. The sound of the heel of his boot repeatedly hitting the tile floor of the dining room, I tried my best to ignore the noise but the harder I tried to block it out the louder the noise got in my head. My breathing quickened, my vision tunneled, my hands shook, and my chest started to hurt. Karl quickly noticed me trying to surpress my panic attack and he looked around to see what caused it before his eyes landed on Shaun's still bouncing leg. He slammed his hand on his knee to stop it which earned him a glare.

"Excuse us Mom."  Karl quickly stood to his feet, gently taking my hand and pulled me upstairs.

"Oh alright!" Karl pulls me into his old room that we were staying in and shut the door. He quickly guided me over to the bed and pushed me to sit down before kneeling infront of me.

"Honey, can I touch you?" I nod slowly, clutching my chest. He reaches forward to gently hold my hands, softly rubbing the backs with his thumbs.

"Ok, on a scale from one to ten how bad is this attack?" He kept his voice low and gentle to keep me calm. I lightly tap 4 times on his hand with my index finger.

"Alright, just breath with me." He gently pressed his forehead against mine as he held our hands against his chest. The occasional kiss was pressed to my lips, cheek, and nose.

"I love you Y/N, I love you so much. I love you Honeycomb." His soft words of encouragement and compliments, the feeling of his heartbeat and lips gently coax me into a calm, happy state. My breathing slowed a significant amount, my chest was no longer tight.

"I'm OK now, thank you Karl."

"You're welcome my love, it was Shaun wasn’t it? That caused your panic attack?" I gently squeeze his hands to show that it's ok.

"It was the tapping noise itself, not your brother." I gave him a soft kiss as a thank you before taking him back downstairs. Karl pulled Shaun aside and explained my situation so he wouldn't accidentally trigger me anymore.

Here you go Gryffindor_Scales :D definitely not proud of the ending so sorry about that
