'Little Lion Man'!

I sat alone in my bedroom, my legs drawn up to my chest, staring at the trunks on the edge of my dark oak bed. The trunks all had my initials embedded on them, stating 'A.D' in the middle of the Hogwarts crest.

I laid down, exhausted, after arguing with my father. I stared at the ceiling above my bed. An array of stars shone across the span of the black roof. The time was 4am and the moon was starting to fall on my ceiling, imitating the sky outside. I always enjoyed looking at the stars, it was comforting. It felt like I could tell them anything and no one would be there to judge me.

"Alohamora." A voice whispered from outside of my room. A small flash came through the key hole as the door clicked open. I groaned as I grabbed my pillow. Dumbledore walked into my room and spotted me. Before any words could leave his mouth, I launched my pillow at him. "Ow!". I started throwing anything that I could at him until he sighed. "Aresto momentum." All the objects I threw slowly glided to the ground with a barely audible 'thump'.

"Get out." I spat. I didn't want him here. Not after our argument. Dumbledore sat himself down, comfortably, on my bed right in front of me. He held my hands and gently caresses them in a way to calm me. "Amaya, you have to understand that this is for your own good..." Dumbledore spoke, comfortingly. I snatched my hands away from him, harshly. "What is? Sending me off to Hogwarts because you can't control me anymore?" I glared at Dumbledore. He knows I've grown enough to the point where I'm at the stage where he can't control my independence anymore.

"No, that's not what I mean. I'm sending you there because you need to meet other people. Since I'm practically the only person you spend time with, it's driving the both of us mad." Ok, he kind of had a point there. I sighed. "But why send me to Hogwarts two years later than everyone else? It'll be awkward." I spoke, a little nervously.

"I didn't enrol you in the first two years because it was too dangerous, especially when Professor Quirrell turned out to be Voldemort's pawn and the Chamber of Secrets opened. My protective instincts kicked in and I knew you couldn't go there because you'd get hurt. But, I changed my mind. I realised that I was being too harsh on you and that it was finally time to let you go. For real, this time." Dumbledore got up and opened my wardrobe. He opened a secret compartment at the bottom and pulled out a box. He blew off some dust and walked towards me.

"I think it's time that I finally gave you this." Dumbledore handed me the rectangular box and I took no time in opening it. Inside was the most beautiful wand that I'd ever seen.

"Holy shit!" The word accident slipped out of my mouth, so I quickly clasped my hand over it and mumbled a muffled 'oops'

"Holy shit!" The word accident slipped out of my mouth, so I quickly clasped my hand over it and mumbled a muffled 'oops'. Dumbledore chuckled. "I'll let you off this time, Amaya." I snickered and examined the wand. I looked up at Dumbledore, curiously. "How long have you had this?" I asked. Dumbledore tried to hide a sly grin, but it didn't really work. "A while. If I gave it to you a few months ago you'd probably would've killed me by now." Dumbledore laughed. I laughed along, nervously. Does he really think I would've killed him?

Suddenly, my uniform was slung into my face "Ah!". Dumbledore laughed. "Hurry up and get changed!" He walked towards the door, but quickly stopped himself. He turned around to me and uttered the words of a spell. My vision went blurry before turning normal. "Sorry Amaya, I needed to change your eyes back to normal. They turned white again because of our fight". My face went red and I ran over to the mirror to see my now blue eyes. Shit, I should've known my eyes turned white again. It must've been a blur after our argument. Dumbledore planted his hands on my shoulders and quickly kissed the top of my head. "I'll be in the living room waiting for you, ok?" Dumbledore smiled as I nodded. He then walked out the room.

Not long after, I finished putting on my uniform and finished my third check of the day to see if I had all of my stuff. The sun had finally rose, leaving my ceiling a blue colour with a few clouds and the sun scattered around. I hauled my trunks out of my room for Dumbledore to take to our carriage. I glanced at my wand and put it in the inside pocket of my robes to rest. I took one last look around my room and wiped away a stray tear that left my eye. With that, I left my room and closed the door, never to return to the comforting place again. Well, not until Christmas, that is.
