I woke up with Katniss and my Mum in my face. I jolted up really quickly as they shocked me. I can see Katniss and Mum trying to talk to me but I still can't hear anything. Then I see Dad lean back in his chair and shake his head. The nurse leans me back down and I guess she is trying to stop Katniss and Mum being in my face.The nurse is really hot but I can't say that because that would upset Katniss.
Oh yeh, I haven't tried speaking yet. So I try to say hello. I can see Dad smiling which normally means I'm doing something really well because he never smiles. Oh great I can talk. I say to Katniss I love her and that I need to speak to her when I can actually get out of this hospital. I say to every that I don't know whats going on but I'm going to find out. I think my hearing is getting better because I can hear the nurse talking to me. She's saying to me to say my name and I say I'm Peeta Mellark and I'm going to find out what's going on. I can hear faintly in the room beeping and beeping and then I see a computer. Then I follow the wires that come down from the machine and into my arm.
Why my arm? What happened to my arm? I didn't break it in the woods, did I? Not that I can remember anyway. So I say what happened to my arm. The nurse said nothings wrong with my arm but we are using it to bring the wires in your ear. OK.
