II

As the carriage ride was nearing to a close I began to collect my long skirt, I heard movement but I ignored it. I then lifted my head up to laurie with an adoring look on his face and a soft smile plastered on his lips, "Ah, ma bijou. I was beginning to worry. As your eyes were glued to the floor," He lightly laughed as I shot him an embarrassed look- "A hand?" He asked signalling me to grab hold "Yes, thank you" I took his hand gladly as I stepped out the carriage, his grip was strong but nurturing as I could see by his considerably focused face He was trying to be gentle.

I thank him and let go of his hand, but as I let go he just catches it and slides it up so our arms are now interlocking, he smiles a warm rather proud smile and I happily return it. We Walk into the room where the party was and I soon see a relived Jo hurtling at me; "Oh thank the lord! I thought you'd be stating at the ground all night" she then nodded at laurie as recognition then swiftly turned back to me "Don't worry, I'll return you to your lover-boy again soon just follow me" She explained as she grabbed my arm and walked away "Give me a moment teddy" I whispered to laurie and he kindly nodded, I grinned in response then followed after jo

"JO! JO! WAIT" I said raising my voice a little so she could hear. "Alex, it's meg-" She said running back up to Me, " Why what happend?" I asked now feeling a growing pit in my stomach " whilst u were with laurie outside, she was dancing hurt her ankle" she explained "Oh goodness" I replied as we walked over to her "Meg! Whatever could we do with you?" I asked with a laugh, she laughed back "Home would be best." Meg admitted, we all nodded in understanding " don't worry we can get you home. There's still a carriage outside" I notified.

"Oh good" She said clearly relived. "Amy and Beth walked with her as I walked behind with jo, when she spoke "I promised I'd return you to your lover, now go! I never break my promises, I'll see you at home." She rambled, I just smiled and asked if she was sure. She quickly replied yes and pushed me into the crowd "I love you!!" I yelled after her "I love you too!!" She yelled back.

I turned around to see laurie with a girl, of whom I don't know he seemed quite content so I left, who was that girl? He was laughing with her and dancing. I couldn't be jealous. I just met the guy! Could I? No. No. Forget all of that just go home and care for Meg, so I did. I raced out the door and stopped the March carriage,

"Oh my what happend?" Asked Amy as I jumped into the vehicle " Oh nothing Ames, just restful" I said with a tired smile, she nodded and turned back to face the front. We arrived back home and we all dropped our coats at the door, we sat Meg down on the big arm chair and propped her leg up on a stool from the kitchen, "I'm going to bed, rest well ladies" I stated and got up to go to my room. They all said their goodnights.

I walked into room rather sluggishly, I had no idea as to why I was so tired. I mean I didn't really get to dance or anything like that at all. But this isn't about me, I just pray meg is okay, I soon snapped out of my thoughts and slipped on my night dress, a light pink, silk night gown with white lace at the bottom. I then rushed into the bedrooms bathrooms then quickly followed up by a calmer stroll to my bed
