I never thought I'd see the day
where the colour of the sky
faded away
I watched as
ashes danced upon the grave.
here just lied another name
no one cared
and no one prayed
I wonder if Id be forgotten when it came to my day.

And there I stood just in grey
I stood alone
with nothing left to say

I was there to see the way
the ocean crashed

it was just as sharp as the blade that slashed
the throat of another one of us.

it was my turn to go, I knew I must,

and as I watched, the flowers dried
and I wrote my note, of suicide

hung the rope and tilted my head,
I was always told I was better off dead

but then I heard his voice soft and clear,

he said "just a moment, listen here"

he told me the reasons I should not go,
and soon his words became very slow
....
so it's not over, just yet dear..
take down the rope
and throw it away
it's not your time,
not on this day.
but just don't forget the way he spoke
because someday
I cannot say
that he'll be here
and you, my dear, may be the one to witness his last tear
as he slips away
you'll be the one to dig his grave.
