Sometimes when the weather is just right I'll pull on my black tights Put on all my clothes just right and head into the everchanging world outside
No matter the pant's my legs are never warm for the wind is quite a trickster It pushes against me however it pleases, nipping constantly at my exposed face
As the sirens race past I pull my hat down and walk just a bit faster the fear present in my mind
The park is not a ghost town on this warm winter day, kid's enjoying the fleeting rays
I sit on a swing spaced by my height from a girl and her sister going ever higher
One watches the other with gleeful shrieks while the elder swings closer to the sky
A smirk twitches under my mask as memories from a bittersweet past emerges once more
Day's in middle school when I troubled my parent's with heartaches and stress
When my attention span was focused on trivial things, friends popularity fame
Yet it was all for naught because high school does not care for superficial ideas
So now I stride along the streets holding onto memories from a bygone time
Even though walks are supposed to calm the mind and relieve stress, I feel pain.
Not physical pain but deep emotional pain of which you know lying in bed, not able to sleep
It comes when you lie in Limbo, staring at the ceiling when life comes crashing back down onto you at your weakest moment
We all stare into the void as a battle of wills and those who blink are consumed by it
So here I sit on a swing on melancholy as an elder in a young man's body
Watching another my own age live through a precious fleeting moment in life, enjoying true pure happiness
