Chapter 23
Even after she arrived back home, Lisa's heart was still uneasy. It didn't matter that she won't be able to visit Eunwoo's home and see his mother for a while. Anyway, improving her relationship with his mom wasn't such an urgent mission. What's troubling is that tomorrow was when Eunwoo needed to go to the school to confirm his application. He'll still go...right?
In the end, Lisa couldn't help but call Eunwoo after she had taken a bath. The phone rang for a while before it was picked up. The voice that came out of her phone was soft and gentle "Lisa, what's the matter?"
Lisa felt bewitched by his gentle voice. But after shaking her head a few times, she managed to focus. "Well, it's nothing...what are you doing right now?"
Eunwoo replied "I just took a bath, and I was going to study a little."
After hearing that Eunwoo intended to study, Lisa felt a little relieved. Studying meant that he still intended to go tomorrow.
"Then I won't bother you. Don't forget tomorrow's on-site confirmation."
"Nn." Eunwoo spoke up before Lisa hung up. He said "Don't worry about today; just wait a few days, and my mother will calm down."
Lisa smiled. "Alright."
The confirmation place was in City A's University of Technology. Eunwoo needed to bring his ID card and certificate. He got up early in the morning, piled up all the necessary documents, then went to the kitchen to make breakfast.
Cha ShuLi seemed to be in a bad mood. She got up much later than usual. When Yuna came out of her room for breakfast, she knocked on her mother's door. "Mom, are you awake? Brother has finished making breakfast. Do you want to come out and eat?"
In winter, the temperature was lower, so things cool much faster. Yuna was afraid that the food might get cold. After she knocked, Cha ShuLi opened her door in her pajamas. She didn't look very well, and her hair was only messily tied back.
"Mom?" Yuna said. Cha ShuLi looked at Yuna, then walked past her to brush her teeth. Afterward, she went to the dinner table and sat down.
Eunwoo ate quickly, then went into his room to get his bag. He told Cha ShuLi "I'll be leaving for work. You guys eat slowly."
"Okay." Yuna answered him as she took a bowl of porridge. Cha ShuLi, with chopsticks in her hand, looked at the bag he was carrying.
Eunwoo sometimes brought food to work, and it was usually packed in a bag. Cha ShuLi had seen this before. Recently, Eunwoo had been carrying his textbooks to work, and to not attract his mother's attention, he would use the same bag to smuggle them out. Today, there were no textbooks in his bag. Instead, it was the documents he needed.
Cha ShuLi stared at the bag right until Eunwoo left.
After breakfast, Yuna took the initiative to clean up the table. Afterward, she went into her room to study. Cha ShuLi sat alone in the living room for some time, then got up and walked towards Eunwoo's room.
Eunwoo usually closed his door, but he never locks it. Cha ShuLi grabbed the door handle and turned it. The door opened with a 'click.'
Before, when Eunwoo was still in high school, Cha ShuLi used to go into his room and clean Eunwoo's room for him. After she got sick, Eunwoo took over all the housework.
Ever since she stopped cleaning, Cha ShuLi had never gone into Eunwoo's room. Because they moved houses after Eunwoo's father died, this was going to be the first time Cha ShuLi entered this room.
