CHAPTER ONE.

lais day starts with the blaring sound of her alarm clock. the warm sun rays hit her face as she rubs her eyes. the time was currently seven a.m. and it was time for lai to get ready for her boring eight-five job.
lai was a freshly graduated college student. well.. she graduated over a year ago but you get the point. lai has always been stuck between jobs and career choices, never knowing what to do. currently, lai works at their town's local pharmacy. it's a cute little pharmacy run by the sweetest lady. lai believes that the job she has now will help her earn money for when she's finally ready to start her career but by the looks of it, who knows.
once lai is out of bed she's immediately engulfed by the chilly breeze in her apartment. before leaving the room, she grabs her phone walks towards the bathroom, her feet being welcomed by the cold tiles. lai looks into the mirror. she's wearing an oversized hoodie that barely passes her mid-thigh and her hair a mess. lai decides to hop in the shower first. she brushes her teeth, washes her face and body, and gets out, and gets dressed. to lai, there's no point in getting all dolled up for her job. so, she doesn't. she puts on her work uniform which consists of black jeans and her light blue work shirt tucked in. after putting her black converse on she clips her long, curly brown hair back and pulls out two strands of hair at the front of her face.
after getting ready, the time is seven-forty five and it's time for lai to leave. she grabs her keys and her bag and makes her way out the door, locking it behind her. she begins to walk down the hallway as feels a tap on her shoulder. she jumps and looks to the side. "holy shit tyanna you scared me." tyanna giggles and sticks her tongue out.
tyanna and lai have been friends for almost two years now. they met when tyanna was moving into the apartment building three doors down. ironically, tyanna moved in a month after lai did. lai assumes that tyanna must've moved by herself, seeing that she didn't have any help with moving her boxes. looking at tyanna, lai felt bad and decided to help her move the rest of her stuff in. ever since then, the two became closer than ever. although the pair had completely different aesthetics, they were able to hang out and get along well, extremely well. lai has never had a lot of friends, and tyannas friends always end up in some type of argument. so, the two girls were happy to have some type of calm in their storm, someone to keep them company.
"are you on your way to another meeting?" lai asks. tyanna nods, "mmhmm. this time it's one for.. what's it called? i forgot," tyanna says waving her hand, "but my manager and i are meeting with the people involved to see if this collab would be beneficial for me." lai nods her head as the two make their way towards the apartment elevator. lai presses the down button and waits for the doors to open. lai looks at tyanna, she looks so professional. she's wearing this black fitted suit that suits her petite figure well. her curly black hair falling right above her shoulders and she's wearing black high heels that match the outfit. you would assume that her favorite color is black.
the elevator doors open and the two step inside, pressing the button for the garage. "lai, what time are you gonna be out of work?" tyanna asks. "t... i get out at five i tell you this every time. it's not gonna change girl." lai says laughing and rolling her eyes at tyanna. "right i forget!" tyanna says playfully hitting lais shoulder. "anyways as i was saying, come to my apartment afterward and we can order food and watch a movie." lai nods her head in agreement. lai has been to tyannas apartment so many times she practically knows it like it's her own. tyannas apartment was very simplistic, but not boring. honestly, lai never minded going to tyannas apartment. she would go over and the two would binge movies together. they'd pick a horror or thriller movie, watch it, and then talk about how the movie blew their mind for the next thirty minutes. if it's not that then it's lai trying to decipher and break down the whole movie.
the elevator doors open. the two girls say their goodbyes as they go to their cars and head their separate ways.
