"So are you excited for your trip next week?" Krisy asked Darcy.
Darcy had planned for a trip to California three months ago with the help of her friend Suzy. Darcy had met her at a gaming panel six months prior to their plans of her visiting them.
"Mega stoked," Darcy replied, unable to conceal her excitement. "I'm finally gonna spend my summer with Mortem3r and meet the Game Grumps! You know I've dreamed of this!"
Krisy laughed. "I know."
Darcy squealed like a little Japanese school girl. She was so excited! She'd always wanted to visit California. And she's meeting her favorite YouTubers? Could anything possibly get better!
"Okay!" Darcy started. "Let's see... I have my roundtrip ticket, packed my suitcase and a carry on... What am I missing?"
"You're chill pills?" Krisy teased. She laughed as Darcy jokingly punched her shoulder. "C'mon, babe. We gotta get you to the airport before your flight leaves without you."
*at the airport*
Darcy and Krisy hugged each other tight at the departure gate, tears in both girls' eyes.
"Promise you'll Skype me often?" Krisy asked, pulling away to wipe Darcy's tears.
Darcy smiled and did the same. "Of course."
The girls gave one last tight squeeze, and Darcy boarded her flight.
Darcy took her seat after packing away her carry on. She put in her ear buds and switched on Vocaloids. Looking out the window as the plane lifted from the solid earth and into the clouds, Darcy felt her greatest adventure was about to begin.
