Dabi was wrapped up in a cocoon of feathers, Hawks wings wrapped around him as he tried to fall asleep. After about an hour of listening to Hawks breathing and mumbling, he dozed off. Sometime in the middle of the night, he began to have a nightmare. He could feel himself squirming and hear himself whimpering, and he felt bad, not wanting to wake his sleeping husband. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't wake himself up.
It was the same dream as always. His father beat him until his arms were tired, him burning himself, and eventually getting thrown out of the house, not allowed back, never seeing his mother or siblings again.
Eventually, Hawks shook him awake and Dabi clung to him like a baby.
"Shhhh, Baby. It's okay. I'm here now, it's okay."
This only calmed Dabi down a little bit though.
"Bad dream again?" Hawks asked, kind of cautiously.
"Y-yeah. I don't know what to do. I tried to wake myself up, but I couldn't." Dabi explained.
"It's not your fault. I actually got you something for the dreams. I was hoping you wouldn't need to use it since you have been sleeping fine lately."
Hawks reached into their bedside table and pulled out a bottle of melatonin gummies.
"Here, babe, try two of these. If they work, then take two every night before you go to sleep. I'll buy as many as you need." Hawks said, kissing his husband softly after he took the gummies.
"Thank you, Keigo." Dabi said, quickly kissing back.
"You're very welcome. Come on, lets see if those help you sleep." Hawks said, re-wrapping himself around his already dozy husband.
"Good night. I love you, birdie." Dabi whispered.
Hawks leaned over to kiss his cheek and nose. "I love you too, Touya." He whispered back.
