"Hey why don't you sit here"
A boy who looked looked like a pre-teen called
"Yeah, sure"
"I'm River by the way" he introducted extending his hand
"Roslyn" Said Roslyn, shaking his hand
"Thats a pretty name"
"I guess"
"I've never seen anyone here before, First time?"He asked after a few minutes of silence
"No, actually I come here every night just arrived a little early today"
"Really, why?'' The boy asked, Roslyn was getting uncomfortable by his curiousity
" Just, because"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude"
Her eyes widened a little by the respectfulness.
She never had a boy apologizing to her before , other boys in her class just teased her all the time.
"Its fine , I'm just used to sitting here alone which is why I come here at night"
He hummed in response
The silence fell again
" What's your age" River questioned randomly
" Ten , I'll be eleven in a few months though, you?"
"I just turned eleven"
"Oh, when?"
"Today"
" Must be nice having your birthday on new year's day "
"Its not really special, also aren't you gonna wish me"
"Happy Birthday River"
"You just said it because I told you to"
" Not really, You asked me to do so
, so the decision was mine really"
"Are you sure you're ten because my aunt talks the same way you do"
"We're getting off track here River, now tell me why are you sitting on a broken building , on a fine evening, talking to a stranger when you should be celebrating your birthday"

2nd January
Roslyn and River decided to go next day at the opposite time hoping to meet each other.
River went at night and Roslyn at evening.
They both went home disappointed wishing to see each other the next day.
3rd January
Roslyn decided to go at night anyway whether River would be there or not but River had a plan , he'd arrive at his usual time but would stay till night to see if he really met Roslyn or she was an hallucination, for she said she came every night but by the time it was 8 pm he started to loose hope but then he saw a bush of black shiny hair, a girl tightly hugging her body , her face facing the stars.
"Hey River" Roslyn greets
"How did you know I was here?"
"Your footsteps arent very discreet and I figured I'll meet you today or never"She said
"Why so confident?" He asks
"Just,because"
"Is that your catchphrase or something?"
Roslyn turned back and grinned at him
"How'd you know?"
"What can I say I'm the smartest person you'd ever meet"
" Why so confident?" She asks as he sits down beside her
" Just, because"
" Are you trying to steal my catchphrase because I'll have you know stealing is a crime"
" Well is it also a crime to steal someone's heart?" He asked turning his face look at her
" Why would you do that? That is digusting and now I'm really rethinking this newborn friendship" She fake scowled
" That's not what my brother's girlfriend said to him when he asked the same question" He said with a pout on his lips
" If you're thinking to call me your girlfriend then I'm running to the hills now" She said making a face
" Well arent you my girlfriend you are a girl and my friend' He asked innocently
" River I thought you were supposed to be the older one"
" And I am Rose"
" Rose? Did you forget my name so quickly?" She questioned furrowing her eyebrows
"No stupid that's now your nickname" He said chuckling
"Well thanks for informing me Mr.Smartypants but I'd rather you call me by my real name"
"I can't do that now Rose when my mind is made up nothing can change it"
" But I can"
"Where did this boost of confidence come from"
"It was already there, I just didn't feel the need to show it"
