Feelings are convoluted, confusing, confounding, chemical and complex
They can leave you feeling excited, hurt, confused and a messWould you take a pill to take them all away?Make you less receptive and less targetedLike a tree that refuses to grow?Would you ride it out like a surfer on the seaSeeking that choice wave patiently, a feeling to craveThe feeling of freedom that you feel when you flyLeaving the physical world behindUntethered to anything but the pilot's seatEntwine with the clouds below your feetSkate with the turbines that twirlLike a skater whose ribbons whirlTwisting, turning, running freeThe rush of the wind from the ocean breezeTrees that sway and leaves that fallStars that twinkle and stars that fallIf we took that pill all these would ceaseSo I ask again, would you take that pill?I know I wouldn't, though great the painThe grass doesn't grow without a little rainBroken bones and shattered heartsCold cars in winter that do not startFootball teams losing and losing petsHurtful words turning into regretMistakes we make, results that followThat pill would not be too hard to swallowBut things are great too, in this placeThe smile on a baby's faceThe glimmering sun lying on the seaMulticultural leaves adorned on the treesThe fresh smell of coffee, roses and baconThat wonderful feeling of feeling awake andThat first kiss, lingering longer for moreTurning the key in your brand new doorSo many things that we would missIf we took that pill to ease the painNo more rainbow after the rainNo more meteor shower to break the nightOnce again I ask, would you take that pill and why?
