I hum walking around, walls of thick bushes surrounding me in nearly every direction. I wonder what he had asked them to investigate, me perhaps? If that's the case I need to find out how much they know. Letting a long breath out, I slip my hands into the pockets of my pants.
I turn on my heel and begin to head out of the bushes, and back past the three musketeers that were still having a secret conversation about some investigation, their eyes following me as I walked past.
I wobble over to one of the many bathrooms, turning the tap on, cupping the water in my hands I splash my face with the water I gathered. I hold onto the sink counter looking up at myself in the mirror taking out my hair letting it flow down my back.
Taking a couple more deep breaths I let everything stop around me, letting my emotions sink in before I dry my face heading back out of the bathroom. My mouth felt dry aching for water but my body ached for a different substance. I just had a brilliant idea.
I swallowed down my saliva and peeked outside down the hall. Taking a couple of steps outside of the bathroom, I make my way towards the lunchroom peeking my head in.
The dining table was filled with only a few empty seats, people talked among themselves and happily ate the food provided by the chefs. Espen, Colton and Kyra were now sat at the head of the table not making much conversation. They must've not stayed outside for that long after me.
I bite my lip, my eyes narrowing down on the neck of a random person I had met on my first day here, her heart pumping hard to keep the blood flowing around her body. I could see her veins popping out slightly in her neck stained with the redness of blood.
I squeeze my eyes shut hiding around the corner again taking a deep breath in before I walk into the room making a bee-line for Espen, the easiest target.
I tug on his shirt sleeve grabbing his attention, Espen turned his head towards me but so did Colton and some other people down the dining table. "Can we...talk?" I glance over at Colton before back at him "alone?".
He looked slightly confused and wiped his mouth getting up from his seat "I'll be back Sir.". I hold onto the sleeve of his shirt as we walk out of the dining hall heading down the corridor away from the people's ears.
"What's the matter?" He hummed turning his head to the side, brushing my hair out of my face as my head hung low looking towards the ground.
"I just need something" I speak through clenched teeth as I try to hold back my urges. I could hear the blood circulating around his body, the smell wafting through my nose, it was addictive. Just a little longer.
"What do you need darling?" Espen questioned sliding his hands into his pockets watching my every move in an attempt to understand what was going on with me. "I need a drink.". Saliva pooled in my mouth, his blood was certainly going to taste delicious.
"Okay, there's plenty of drinks in the hall or in the kitchen. Are you too shy to go get it or something?". Espen's words were clear, his tone kind and caring.
I shake my head, groaning as my teeth morphed turning sharper than a blade, my eyes flickering back and forth. Stay under control. Don't let it take over your body.
"You certainly are a moron. I need blood, not fucking juice or water." I glance down at his neck, biting down on my tongue to refrain myself from getting too excited and doing a messy job.
"Ah, I see. Well then, please take a drink darling" He holds out his wrist a gentle smile displayed on his face. What a fucking idiot.
I push his arm down and sink my teeth into his neck, my eyes shut as his sweet syrupy blood enters my mouth. My body hunger for more, his hand brushing my hair back as I drank slowly savouring the taste.
"That's enough," Espen whispered his breath fanning against my ear. I dig my nails into his arms holding him in place. Blood trickled down his neck through the corners of my mouth. "I said that's enough." His voice raised becoming serious this time but I refused to back down.
