The night sky with the moon and stars looking beautiful, you guys were currently stargazing together, a picnic mat was spread down on the grass while both of you were laying on it, looking at the night sky. It was a romantic evening and there was a cool summer breeze. You had leaned onto Jungkook a while back and his hand was wrapped around your shoulder while his other was resting on the back of his head. "It's so pretty," he said quietly, breaking the silence.
He squeezed your shoulder gently, "I can't believe it's almost our 3 year anniversary" he said, looking up at the stars, his breath warm against your cheek as he spoke. He shifted a little on the mat, moving closer to you and now his chin was resting on your shoulder.
You laughed lightly, "You sound like you can't wait," you said, leaning your head against his. He hummed in response, his fingers tracing small patterns on your arm "of course I can't wait baby" he said, pressing a light kiss on your shoulder, you hummed breathing the fresh air.
You two were quiet for a while, just enjoying each other's company and the peaceful surroundings. But then Jungkook suddenly sat up, turning to face you "Can I ask you something?" he asked, a small smile on his face.
You sat up as well, now facing him "Yeah, of course. What is it?" you asked, looking at him curiously. He reached out and took your hand in his, his thumb tracing small circles on your palm.
Jungkook cleared his throat, looking a little nervous "I've been thinking... About our relationship, and how far we've come" he said, looking down at your intertwined hands.
You nodded, squeezing his hand gently to show that you were listening. He took a deep breath, looking up at you "We've been together for three years now, and I can honestly say that they've been the best years of my life" he said, his voice soft but sincere.
"You make me so happy, and I'm more in love with you than ever" he paused for a moment, and you could feel your heart racing. Where was he going with this?
He took another deep breath, and you could see the excitement in his eyes "I've been thinking about this for a while, and I know it may sound cliche but-" he suddenly stopped, shifting himself to kneel down on one knee.
Your eyes widened and your heart skipped a beat. Is he...? He looked at you, his eyes full of love and devotion "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" he said softly, taking hold of both of your hands in his.
Tears welled up in your eyes and you felt like you were in a dream. You had suspected this might happen, but still, hearing him say the words gave you a rush of emotions. "I love you more than anything in the world, and I can't imagine my life without you" he continued, his voice cracking slightly.
He fumbled with something in his pocket before pulling out a small velvet box. Your breath caught in your throat as he opened it, revealing a beautiful ring. "Will you marry me?" he asked, his voice now barely above a whisper.
