Sitting in his car, I realize two things. One, Zayden is not as bad as he wants everyone to think he is. Two, there seems to be something he's not telling us. I wonder what kind of place Davel is that made him shiver to the spine.

"So, what exactly is Davel?" Aria asks as if reading my mind. "A place you would never want to be, you can also call it the land of horrors," Zayden replies, eyes focused on the road. "Why? What is in there?" I ask, never taking my eyes off of him.

A drop of sweat falls on the steering wheel as he looks at me just long enough to shut me up. I was almost certain he'd say nothing when he answers, "You've already read a little about the place in the book. Creatures are lurking in the dark in those woods. Mythical creatures that would give you Goosebumps or worse eat you up if you ever cross their way," says Zayden, wiping sweat off of his forehead.

I wonder if I should ask him how he knows so much about the place. Although, I keep quiet, sensing his tension. He said that we need to travel for very long to get there. So, we stop at a hotel to have a meal and rest for the night.

Laying on my bed, I start imagining what it would be like to meet my biological parents. Would they recognize me? Will they be happy to see me after so many years? What if I'm wrong about the visions? Or worse, what if I'm too late?

With all the questions running in my head, I had no idea when I drifted off to sleep. I woke up to Aria's voice calling me to have breakfast, and telling me we can start after that.

I look around for Zayden, but he is nowhere in sight. I walk up to the front door to check if he's in the hallway. "He's already at the buffet," Aria calls me from behind.

We get dressed and meet Zayden at the breakfast table. "Dig right in! We can't be sure we would get lunch since there is no stop for a long distance," he says, stuffing himself with scrambled eggs and toast.

After breakfast, we check out and drop our luggage in the trunk of his car again. "I'll drive," I say, extending a hand to Zayden to hand over the keys. He looks at me surprised and says, "I'll drive. You don't even know which way to go." He's right. I don't. But I don't wanna look like an idiot, so I say, " You can tell me though." At that, he sighs but doesn't budge. "Are you done yet?" Aria interrupts us before we go full-on fighting. "Yes," I reply as I sit in the passenger seat, giving up.

The drive is silent for forty minutes until I break the ice," How is that you know so much about Davel?" I ask. The car halts to a stop, and now he's glaring at me, contemplating if it's safe to tell me.

Finally, he says, " It is a long story." and goes quiet again. Though I am intrigued to know, I don't push him anymore. He'll tell me when he is ready.
