Story time: So my grandma had 5 daughters, and my mom was the youngest. After having 4 daughters, my grandma wanted a boy, and you know the older generations tend to think that boys are superior to girls, and a lot of people biased boys.
Then there was this relative that had boys and wanted a girl, so my grandma and this relative made a deal that if my grandma gave birth to another girl, and this relative gave birth to another boy, they were going to exchange the babies.
Coincidentally, my grandma had my mom, and that relative had another boy; so they were going to exchange their children. But my grandpa refused to do it and insisted on keeping my mom, so the enxhange didn't happen.
And that was the story of how my mom nearly got raised by another family, and how I nearly didn't exist. Btw, out of the 5 sisters, my mom gave birth to the most children (3), resulting in giving my grandparents the most grandchildren.
We don't hold any grudges against my grandma though, she's still really cool and we love her.
