The whole breakfast I was thinking of this one girl. I knew that I was surrounded by dozens of lovely people but I felt like the loneliest person in the world. Without this girl i felt like I would die. Is that even possible? i hadn't spoken a word to her, a total stranger, but i felt completely lost without her by my side.
After breakfast, I walked as fast as I could without looking desperate, though I was. She greeted me with a slight bow and when she did, her beautiful, long hair fell into her eyes, making her look like an angel. She looked up at me and a sheepish smile was plastered on her face.
"Hi, I'm Alexander." I said. "I would like to take you on a walk with me, in the garden." Her smile grew large and she nodded her head.
"I'm Becca by the way." she said said as we walked out of the dining room. I could feel all of the other girl's eyes on our backs as we proceeded out but I did not care about any of them. I just had to know about Becca. We passed several gaurds on our way to the garden who all wore the same blank expression on their faces. I knew that one of these gaurds was my best friend.
His name was Clarkson after the former king of Illea, my grandfather. I don't know why he was named after him because of the things that he did to my father, Maxon. His back is a slate of rugged scars reminding me of when a gaurd came back to the castle after being attacked by a wild coyote. I felt so terrible for him.
Pulling me back from my thoughts, Becca started talking about how glad she was to be here. "I never thought I would get this oppurtunity! I am so excited to be here. I usually am quite shy among my peers but i know that if i am going to win your affections I will have to break through the walls I put up."
I watched as she continued to talk, only talking when she asked me a question. I found her so beautiful and exquisite. She was so easy to talk to. We stayed there the whole day laughing together with tears streamin down our faces. She was so funny. Finally, my best friend, Clarkson, came up to us and informed us that I was needed in my father's office.
I was reluctant to leave but I realized that it was already two in the afternoon. We had missed lunch! I bid Becca a goodbye and ran down the maze of my home into my father's office where he sit behind his desk and Aspen sit in a chair in front of it. By the looks of their faces, something was not right.
